I don't believe that the scriptural rules had anything to do with sexual gratification. Women, from time to time, need to be reminded what it means to be feminine. It does NOT mean using wiles to get one's way. And frankly, walking with head bowed all the time does considerable damage to posture and the muscles in the neck. It's painful to see.

I don't know exactly what women feel, but it's obvious that it doesn't run you crazy like a man's sex drive does him.

How did gratification get into this?

Male sexuality is to a large extent visual. Far more so than female. That's hard-wired, not learned. I believe the scriptural rules have a lot to do with not triggering hard-wired responses with visual stimuli, while men are trying to keep their minds on other things.

I'm also at a loss to know how walking with head bowed all the time came into the discussion.
