This is the Bonneau death that the family is still angry at Hubbard about, even though Hubbard wasn't bishop in 1953, and wasn't even ordained a priest.
This is the same family that produced the man who is accusing Hubbard of sexual abuse while he was a teenage hooker.
I have no dobut things might have been pretty rotten in these Church-run homes back in the days prior to any accountability of priests and nuns. Maybe this nun really did kill this kid; I remember nuns when I was in grade school who slapped kids around at will.
It would be very difficult for Hubbard to do anything in a situation that was over 20 years old, and the police didn't find enough evidence to prosecute.
Of course, let me qualify that by saying that the Church has covered up a great deal, and Hubbard could very well be covering up here.

Well you just opened a whole can of worms. You see i am the witness to the smothering murder of Gilbert Bonneau, and i know of another boy named Mark, who came out in a coffin. Gilbert Bonneau was beaten to a bloody mess in the playroom at St. colmans home in Watervliet, N.Y. He was so bad that he had to be brought into the infirmary. I was in the infirmary because i had just beeen beaten pretty bad myself, in the playroom, but not as bad as Gilbert. Gilbert could not stop screaming, and screaming. I have never seen so much blood pouring out of a person, never mind a little kid. Yes, Gilbert was only eight. After he continued to keep screaming, even after the nun shouted at him to stop, that same nun came in, and sat on his legs on the side of the bed, and smothered Gilbert until he stopped kicking. His name was Gilbert Bonneau, and i watched him get murdered, and it is well known in the Albany catholic dioceses. Even Howard hubbard will tell you that Gilberts death is still under investigation, even as much as he has been lying lately. the name again is: GILBERT BONNEAU.

Is Watervliet, the location of St. Coleman's orphanage, the same town that Father Minkler lived and died in? How large is this town? I know two mysterioous deaaths over a period of 51 years may not sound like anything even if both seem to b connected with the Church, but one should never ignore connected dots without a thought.

I couldn't link to the article about the Franciscan, but it intrigues me. I have repeatedly asked Clevelanders,in person and on the internet about that case.I get no answers to my repeated queries on the net and blank stares from face to face questions.
Initially the story as reported on early morning (5am) news was that the pastor had reported the Franciscan seminarian for some indiscretion with a teen age boy. This led to the semiarian being released from the program. By the 7am news the focus was that the seminarian angry because he was removed, shot the pastor in the head and then burned the rectory. The following day the seminarian was commiserating with the sad parishioners over the death of the pastor. It was only the next day that the coroner noticed the bullet hole in his head and realizzed it was murder, not an accidental death. The later reports did not mention the sexual indiscretion with the teen age boy.
Just recently, someone mentioned that the case went to court in November and the seminarian pled guilty and no information was released. He was sentenced and the whole thing was conveniently buried. I still can't believe the whole story,it seemed that the case would break the whole scandal in the Church vis a vis homosexuality and the homosexuality situation in this country wide open. It's really quite a mystery to me,any thoughts?
