I have no idea what the post was intended to say. Though I am sure most of us would disagree with the last paragraph and I know Mack would not "accept" people leaving Protestantism for Catholicism.
To: Invincibly Ignorant
If I really believed you were that ignorant I'd answer the question. So your refusal to answer a question is the result of your acknowledging my intelligence?
If I ask you 20 more questions, I suppose your silence will prove I'm REALLY smart.
That was a softball. Feel free to take your best shot. 8~)

I get pinged to threads by people all the time. I usually respond with a courtesy reply but if I'm not interested I move on.
So now tell me why you are here? What's the attraction? Not trying to get you to leave. Just wondering.
Why do I hang out here? Because I'm a liberal baptist and am as "bad" (saw the list) ,if not worse, than the rest of these yahoos here:') They are my friends. I belong here. It's my home base.
To: OLD REGGIE
I don't reject Jesus though I reject the notion that He is God. Whoops! Have I missed another anouncement? :-(
To: Frumanchu
What exactly do you believe He is (and why do you bother capitalizing "He" if He is not God)?
He (Jesus) is the Son of God, the
only Son of God. He is the only individual in the history of the world who could speak for God.
Why would you think the Son of God should not be honored?

No matter. I do and I expect Mack does.
"...Though I am sure most of us would disagree with the last paragraph..."
Frankly I don't care whether you agree or not.

Frankly I don't care whether you agree or not. lol. It wasn't a "gee I hope he cares about my opinion" post.
It was a polite way to say "you are wrong".

Whoops! Have I missed another anouncement? :-(
Only by a few years.

He is the only individual in the history of the world who could speak for God. I can think of a prophet or two who might disagree with that idea.
He (Jesus) is the Son of God, the only Son of God.
How does one become an "heir" without becomming a "son" or daughter? Remember that an adopted child was (is) every bit as "legitimate" as a natural one.

I belong here. It's my home base. That may explain why you have repeatedly (and continue to) question my presence on this thread.
I ask nothing more from any poster than common courtesy. If someone wants to ignore my posts or me or my friends, I am affected not in the slightest.
We are all grown-ups and these are just words on a glowing computer screen. They are not God. They are not Christ. They are not food for starving children. Nor are they bullets for brave soldiers, or burning crosses on green lawns or nooses hanging from tree limbs.
These words are, however, examples of human discourse; the free flow of exchanged ideas; the give-and-take of earnest seekers, deceitful charlatans and ignorant rubes alike.
And none should frighten us or cause us to become like that which we despise -- the eternal appeaser.

"How, then, do you interpret Deuteronomy 30:15-19? To me, this passage explicitly shows God telling us we have a free choice." Oh, but then how do you interpret Deuteronomy 30:6? Sounds to me this passage explicitly shows God telling us that He will change our hearts?

I can give you the same type of deconstruct material for Judaism that you gave for Christianity and even for the entire Bible for that matter, why not be cynical and try to get to the truth on these matter's?

But is this the point we really want to reach?
Oooops. That's a question. Please do not answer it, lest my intelligence diminish.

Very interesting. I learned something new today. I always wondered why I had problems with the Trinity. I had decided not to think about it. Now I know why. :)
Christians, Protestant and Catholic alike, seem to believe the current concept of the Trinity was always taught as it is now. My head is hurting. Time to stop thinking. OK! I feel better. I have decided, once again, not to think about it. :)

Huh? I wasn't asking you to leave. I just asked what attracted you to this thread. I've asked you twice now . I guess you don't want to answer. No big deal. Forget it.
To: Dr. Eckleburg
Oh and did you just insult me somewhere in all that stuff? lol

I can give you the same type of deconstruct material for Judaism that you gave for Christianity and even for the entire Bible for that matter, why not be cynical and try to get to the truth on these matter's?No you can't give it to me for the entire Bible. I gave you an example in my last post. God's spoken word and writing on the stone tablets. I doubt you can reconstruct that.
