Regardless of what God was doing at the time Jesus told us that with God all things possible. He said it so I believe it.

Cindy do you know what the word omniscient means ?

That is one of the attributes of God accepted by Christianity . The minute God stops being Omniscient or omnipotent , or omnipresent or Good or Holy or Just etc. He is no longer God. God is the sum total of all His attributes.

Omniscient
Having universal knowledge; knowing all things; infinitely knowing or wise; as, the omniscient God. -- Om*nis"cient*ly, adv. "For what can scape the eye Of God all-seeing, or deceive his heart Omniscient?" Milton.

Scripture interprets scripture. We can not choose to alter the nature of God because we choose to take a scripture out of context

There is not one scripture that supports your reading of the Mat text. In fact scripture proves just the opposite.

Have a wonderful Easter, the808ass.

Dave I'm sure thats a typo, the Doc would NEVER do something like this and bring herself down on the same level as you.

Let's let it go ok? I understand your postition but my post stands.

PROBABLY?????
What do yall have to do to be sure? Amazing! I would not have included the works with salvation and added accept but other than that no argument. If you have accepted Christ as your savior then you KNOW you are one of the "Elect". There is no probably to it.

What if you "accepted " Him because your wife or child wanted you to? Is saying the words enough? There are many people that believe they are saved, that have never met the biblical command to repent and believe , they have simply said a prayer.

BTW do you have a scripture that says we are to "accept Christ " to be saved?

I get an image of Marcia Clark in the OJ trial going ballistic over being called "hysterical" and the "obvious gender implications in the word."

Interestingly enough... it was just after I posted that, that I read something else that made me realize the Doc was a woman. I might have used a different allusion had I known.

Cindy God repeats those things He wants us to know. Now generations have taught that God is omniscient . ( it is pretty hard to believe in prophecy with out believing that) . But I will assume you are correct. Can you give me another scripture where God says He lays aside His foreknowledge?

Perhaps believe in a better choice of word. You don't need me to post. You know what's there. These people you are talking about may say the right words but we both know that if they don't accept Christ as their savior then they aren't saved.

Did I ever say He did? I said He could if He wanted to. Whether He did or didn't not important to me. His will be done.

Agreed that if they do not repent (turn from their sin ) and believe that they are not saved.

My point was that we use "code words" or concepts that are never found in the bible .

No where are we told that we can or have to "accept Christ" , it is just not there. But we are told to repent and believe >)

And I think we both know there is a lot of social pressure sometimes to answer an altar call

The glowing statements about Calvinism that present it as the only true form of biblical Christianity are repeated with a vengeance:

The doctrines of Calvinism, if believed, are a sovereign remedy against the two great heresies in the so called Christian world, viz: ritualism, or sacramental salvation, on the one hand, and rationalism, on the other; the one the offspring of superstition, the other, the product of infidelity.

There is no such thing as preaching Christ and him crucified, unless you preach what now a days is called Calvinism.

This is what Mom will have you to believe Cindy and they fuss at the Catholic church for calling themselfs the one true church and on the tulip they spin just as well as the Catholics maybe better.

That's why I get concerned with young kids. They are learning but are most little ones (somtimes 4-5) really ready?

Can God choose not to be God?

I guess I just can not think of a reason why God would want to allow the world to spin out of His control.

The theists look at creation as God winding a clock and then walking away from it...how depressing to have such an uninvolved God huh?

I think God prepares and calls.

My youngest son was 7, he flew out of the seat and ran to the altar . He has been faithful to that day .

Mack my friend , your post makes no sense. When have you heard any Calvinist say that belief in Calvinism was necessary for salvation?
You need to get a grip Mack .

Yeah I hear you but I also can't see why the God I worship would destine someone to hell at creation. It doesn't fit His pattern.
