You objected to my post above that you could worship yourself if you liked.

That comment was based on this

22*** "The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, **that they
may be one, just as We are one;
23 I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that
the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have
loved Me.
24 "Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me
where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for
You loved Me before the foundation of the world.
25 "O righteous Father, although the world has not known You, yet I
have known You; and these have known that You sent Me;
26 and I have made Your name known to them, and will make it known,
so that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them."

The above entire chapter has much to say, about both love and glory.*** I wonder what verse 22 means?***
DG

We have the Glory of God, based not on any of our merits , but on the work of Christ. He clothes the saved in His glory.

It does not mean,as much of the church seems to believe today , that man is worthy of any glory in himself or that he somehow deserves it

Even the glory we are clothed in is not ours.

Thus my comment pointed at some of the more modern theology , it was not intended as a comment specifically pointed at you , but at so many that glory their free will and the glory God has given them in Christ as some proof of their worth

Thank you for this clarification.

I had hoped that I had made it abundantly clear, in the past, that I am not to be considered a part of any such "modern theology." Further, I am not aware of any such, currently posting on the religion forum. Perhaps it would be as well, if such posts were saved for that category of persons, when and if they post here.

Your Brother in Christ,

DG

"And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father" (Colossians 3:17).

"Whether, then, you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God" (1 Corinthians 10:31).

Amen!
