Your tireless efforts will have been rewarded. And when I'm gone, and the Religion Forum has been liquidated, there will be an exodus from the land of Egypt out into the promised land of the News Forum, where religious discussion will no longer be tolerated, but the cream of the crop will be inspired to end the internecine warfare of the former ghetto and work together and actively engage the culture of death.
I can live with that ;-)

How about demerit cards. It would bring back memories for lots of us. Can't you see the wooden ruler and all that Kleenex stuffed up her sleeve?

Oh come on now. The first thread should be for airing views, freelyFreely? After today, we must appease the Mods and the pagan sychophants with no reasoned rebuttal but with an extremely enhanced sensitivity and an axe to grind.
With these rules Martin Luther's 95 Thesis would have earned him expulsion. The Castle Church doors in Wittenburg have rotted.

Perhaps this is just a thinly disguised purge thread.

That's one. That's petty and heavy handed.

I agree, Mark. I hope sidebar mod reconsiders.
If not, this is probably TWO ;-)

Thanks. Lately, I've thought the forum has been degenerating into too many ad hominems.
As long as you don't stifle theological discussion (and we should be able to say "you're wrong because such and such"), and as long as we are free to probe the backgrounds of the founders of our denominations, I have no problem with your moderation. (i.e., we should be able to post historical info about the popes, Martin Luther, John Calvin, John Wesley, Joseph Smith, etc., even if the historical record is offensive. I have no problem if someone wants to post an expose of the life of J.N. Darby, the guy who founded my own denomination. Inflammatory rhetoric should be verboten, however -- e.g. the recent obbsession with the "Holy Foreskin" last month.)

That's petty and heavy handed. At least we know how tight the ump is calling the strike zone.
So who will be expelled first, you or me? You have one strike. I should get all three of mine before noon tomorrow.
Well, there is always usenet.

Sorry, still lost. Is it nonsense for the sake of humor? Or perhaps I'm not one of the initiated?

There are only two sets of rules. One has been the rule at Free Republic since its beginning. The other set was put forth by our Lord. In either case, your complaint is with either Jim Robinson or Jesus. I'm just here to see that they're followed.

Is it nonsense for the sake of humor?Careful, that could be considered an insult and a strike against you.
Or perhaps I'm not one of the initiated?
If viewed a certain way, that could be considered a flame attack too.

You did not tell me to remove my tagline, but I offered to do so if such was your request. Instead of a clarification, I got a strike. What gives?
