3 - My tagline is just a corollary to the fact that of the 30,000 Protestant denominations, 29,999 must be wrong on some point of theology. I believe that is something even Protestants agree with.So how do we deal with the menu Catholics that pick and choose what doctrine they like thus forming thousands of Catholic churches ?

Have you every once in a while in the last couple of days found yourself checking your profile page just to see if maybe you've been suspended? I find myself doing that after every 3 or 4 posts these days.

Why all the hostility and sarcasm?
I read this whole thread and found some retorts sad and funny, I found some angry and full of a snarly spirit.
I really feel it is in our everyday walk for world is so topsy turby that on this faceless screen what ever comes into view that rubs one it is the battle of the minds and spirit and many times to smack what ever will give a feed back that it was wounded by another blow!
I don't know of anyone who is basicly a good person feels better afterwards, yet it is an addiction that keeps pounding the the spot that is painful!

I have done the same thing. When I check the site, I make sure I am "alive" here too.

I'm sure Milquetoast would check his site too, if he hadn't been permanently banned. Are you still afraid to check out my profile page because of the clown?

CLOWNS ARE SCARY! LOL! I want a bumpersticker reading "Can't sleep! Clowns will eat me!" if that gives you any idea of the fear of clowns I carry! ;-)

Actually there have been a few people that I have checked out their profile page just to see if they were suspended. At least one of them was. He was really asking for it. I sent him some clues that he was pushing the envelope, but he was clueless. I suspect he will get strike 3 before the month is out.

Pleasant dreams. :-)
You have my permission to hit the abuse button and have this post removed. The only problem is that it usually isn't removed from your comment page. So you'll have to post a half dozen comments to move it down the page. Maybe if you posted something really long, like a Jonathan Edwards sermon, it will move down faster.
Sorry. :-)

***There is just no way anyone, outside the circle of exclusion this poster draws, can hope to have a proper discussion with such a poster, until the poster mends his ways.***
If you are referencing me, White Mountain, you are making a generalization which is demonstrably false. Ask CAtholic Family Associatioon, ultima ratio, or tantumergo to name a few. I invite you OR the moderator to do so.
Your pious little lectures, as if you were the moderator, contribute to the problems on the forum. In a previous post you said you expect any post contradicting Mormonism to ALSO contain references and links to LDS scholars. How ridiculous. When have you EVER cited views contrary to Mormon party line?
In another post you said YOU aren't here for apologetics and admonished us to stick to scriptures. Who gave YOU the authority to set boundaries like these? Many texts you cite as Scripture are rejected by EVERY other faith family on the GLOBE (with the exception of the RLDS and pro polygamy sects which you reject). Every other church and religion consider these writings as either uninspired or spurious. So why must we stick to YOUR scriptures?
Apologetics and history are NOT precluded here and it is not your call to make. You are not a moderator. So present your case as best as you can and allow others to do likewise.
Clear enough?

Are not Catholics and your religion (whatever that may be) allowed to define heresy as they please? Since "Orthodox" can be defined as "right belief" and "heresy" as outside of those boundaries, all religious persuasions should be allowed to define these terms any which way they want to. You shouldn't be offended. Especially you. :-) Some one in one of the above posts doesn't like a smiley face that pretends to make the comment friendly ...so you better keep a straight face or you could get a warning
Could be ..but it does not matter ..the religion forum is not a place where truth come in second to getting along .

Will proselytization be allowed here do you think?

Your #556:
I think you are (possibly unconsciously) baiting the hook, WM. Your point about the manner in which the LDS doctrines are often ridiculed is well taken. Thanks for your post. The difficulty with online message boards is that only the written word is conveyed, perhaps less than half of the information conveyed in a face-to-face conversation.
I think you know, from long experience posting here, the points I am trying to make about dealing with a number of posters at once who make false accusations in nearly every post to me, to whom it does no good to reply, who flame and blame it on the people they are flaming, etc.
You also know why they accuse in nearly every post, because they want to convince people of Total Depravity (really Total Inability), and so they think their false accusations are okay and in the service of God. They are not.
So if you know what I need to say, perhaps you can help me wordsmith it so no one will misunderstand or will think I am baiting the hook. Give it a try, but remember, you have to word it so that no one misunderstands or thinks you are baiting.
>> I believe it is possible to discuss LDS doctrine, Calvinism, Arminianism, Catholicism and every other ism, with a modicrum of respect.
Where there is mutual respect, of course. Where respect is just a one-sided thing, see above.
>> That being said, it seems that your contribution to this thread could be objectively seen overall as an attempt to bait some of your past antagonists into flinging a little mud your way in order to prove your points to the sidebar moderator.
Not so. Suggest some wording changes that will convey my meaning so it will not seem so to you, or to anyone else.
>> Your little stab about other people needing a "life changing experience" or Ca Gal working in "accusations, incite inflame and nasty" are comments which are obviously intended to inflame and bring about the worst in the reader.
Calling people on their inflammatory behavior is not being inflammatory, as you would know from a face-to-face conversation. See above.
>> When they respond ... will you turn the other cheek or push the abuse button?
They have been posting that way without any provocation on my part, though they of course insist otherwise. That is how they operate, and have operated for months and years. Keep throwing mud at the wall and claim that some of it is sticking.
This is not an abuse button thing unless they get worse. This is a call to repentance thing. Help me wordsmith how I should call them to repentance on this misbehavior in an effective manner.
