Evidently well earned.

Those sharp tongues are merciless.

BTW, with your objectivity, can you see what I'm talking about in terms of how various religious sources and perspectives of political, WOT, Iraq war etc. are posted on FR and remain in the News section . . . .

while HORRORS, anytying near my realm of reality gets knee jerk shuffled off to the religion section?

Hey Quix - hope you're doing well. How's your friend in China?

Having been raised in classic Pentecostalism I have seen my share of "prophets", both false and accurate. I am a bit wary of Mr. Clement, mainly because he's on Christian TV and I have a bit of a bias against some of those folks. (But then I'm wary of anyone who's considered a modern-day prophet.) To be fair, I've not followed him. I do hope he's correct on this one.

BTW, what OT prophets were not stoned after being inaccurate? Just wondering.

Well, I think it's probably because prophesy isn't considered a newsworthy venue of information. I mean, consider my mother-in-law - clueless. Now, OTOH, if you were a 'prophet' of Islam and spewed death and hatred for America, the international press would immediately harken to the puddle of vomit. Of course, we've come to expect something more than just words from these lunatics, too.

"But whoa, let something come from this perspective and the screaming and whining begins and it is virtually instantly shuffled off to the religion section.

I consider that discrimmination illogical, unkind, unfair and generally cheeky.
"

Hmm, Prophecy is a bit different from news, you see. Lots of religious leaders comment on the news of the day, and their comments are legitimate news stories.

Prophecy is another matter, especially when followed by a lengthy diatribe about how big the evangelical movement has become, complete with numerous footnotes, etc.

I'm sure we could also find some psychics who have predicted when OBL would be captured. Their comments, while interesting, are just speculation, not news.

Now, if this prophecy ends up being true, then you'll have some news to report. Until then, I guess it's off to chat for such postings.

"After all, in the USA, we account for ~336 million plus See comments section."

Uh, there are only about 300 million people in the US -TOTAL! It's kind of hard to buy the prophecy of people trying to read the future when they can't even read an almanac.

Quite understandable. Have a lot of similar feelings.

I haven't been able to find my references on the OT prophets. I believe Jonah was one. I think the other one I was thinking of was Isaiah, Jeremiah, Elijah or Elisha. I don't think it was Ezekiel or Daniel.

Doubt I'll get it pinned down more than that any time soon. I keep my eyes out for coming across that source again but I haven't recently. I even asked Pam Clark and she remembered the document but couldn't get more specific than that either. I think it was in the preface or first chapter of one of Rick Joyner's books. Anyway--when I find it, I'll certainly post it!

It's really in the OT. Whoever was citing the examples was accurate.

I understand that.

But all kinds of papal announcements get mentioned and discussed ad nauseum.

All kinds of Episcopal Bishop stuff gets discussed endlessly.

etc.

But a rare occasional peep of this sort and the reaction is akin to a volcano. Even as a shrink or sociologist--it seems exceedingly out of proportion.

A lot of the other religious postings and discussions regarding the WOT and a LOT of other SORT OF news worthy issues which remain in news are a LOT LESS newsworthy, even a lot less interesting than this post.

It still seems very arbitrary, narrow, rigid and for no good logical reason.

DUH.

Good thing I don't teach math!

33,600,000 is the result of 12% of 280,000,000.

Sheesh.

Ran out of toes and fingers.

Sorry.

THANKS FOR CATCHING THAT.

I think my mind was focused much more on other aspects and clearly mindless on that math stuff. Common with me.

Sorry.

CORRECTIONS:

Note math correction in post #29

Also,

I got a FREEPMAIL which I may be allowed to post which reasonably called me to task about appearing to speak for all of Charismania.

I didn't mean to appear to do that. I meant that more or less any honorable FR person ought to have a right to express something from that perspective. That the people of that perspective had a right to their fair share of the public FR square.

I meant that it seems to me that it's long past overdue for those of us of this set of beliefs to have a more reasonable, more fair-minded, easier time to get any reasonable views expressed from such a perspective to be discussed fair-mindedly in the FR public square.

Charismania? Are you sure you want to use that word to describe yourself and your fellows? Do a Google search for the word. You'll quickly discover that it doesn't have a nice definition. You'll also discover several books that propose to cure you of charismania.

There's nothing wrong with the charismatic movement. It's one more splinter group of Christianity. When you combine it with "mania" though, it starts sounding a little wierd.

You might consider another word to use in descriptions of yourself. I certainly would.

Even as there shall be record breaking degrees once again and there shall be record breakings in winter. There shall be a breaking of a record in a very unusual place in the United States of America. They shall say "this has never happened." It’s as if snow has fallen to the ground in a place that it has never fallen. And God said, Let this be a sign unto you, that this which I have prophesied and that which I have spoken shall come to pass, says the Lord..." Kim Clement October 3, 2003

FROM:

HERE: http://www.kimclement.com/words/November2003/Unusualweather.htm

Note: Although this storm was quite significant, it has proven to be only the beginning of a winter of record breaking temperatures all over the country and around the world.

After receiving e-mails and telephone calls from some of the residents of California that had either heard or read this word before the strange weather struck, we found these reports about this very significant storm that hit South L.A. this past week. The following articles were released by various news sources reporting the storm.

In searching the meaning of the word that Kim had given, we found the grammatical use of "as if" indicates it would be like snow that has fallen in a place it never has, but but not necessarily be snow. "As if" means similar to, but not actually being. This storm actually dropped 18 inches of hail, in some areas creating the appearance of what some have called "a winter wonderland." You will also see the other comparisons, such as how the children play and throw snow/hail balls in these reports. The Bible also uses the phrase "as if" a number of times to make comparisons between subjects.

Although it also speaks of more record breakings in the winter, we found 9 record breaking temperatures were already being reported in South Africa. See articles below. The news speaks for itself. The Lord said that this would be a sign to the church and to the USA that He would fulfill his words spoken and His promises about the breakthrough. (ATS- Prophetic Image Expressions)

Some Play, Others Clean Up After Freak Storm Hail blankets South L.A. in a wintry carpet of white. But many face flood damage and cope with outages.

Winter Wonderland in South L.A.
Storms' Combination Punch Staggers Parts of Southland

Times Headlines

By Ann M. Simmons, Times Staff Writer
Residents of several South Los Angeles neighborhoods awoke Thursday to frontyards piled high with ice, and to carpet and furniture drenched by floodwaters, the result of a freak and vicious thunderstorm Wednesday that left a trail of damage, disbelief and excitement.

Adults joined children to build ice castles and pelt one another with snowballs while marveling at the wintry spectacle most had never seen before. Others were left to deal with power outages, soggy floors and wet upholstery.

People from other parts of the city drove to South Los Angeles to view the remarkable sight in a region where rainfall is moderate and damaging hailstones are a rarity. Especially hard hit were Watts, Compton, Lynwood and South Gate, which were drenched with more than 5 inches of rain.

. . .

Sheets of ice blanketed grass along parts of Imperial Highway in Watts. On side streets, frozen crystals were heaped on yards and pavements and enveloped parked cars. But one or two blocks over, streets were clear.

. . .

Workers from the city Department of Public Works used skip loaders, normally used to remove mud and trash, to shovel the ice into one huge knoll in the center of Belhaven Street."We don't know how long it's going to take to clean up because we've never seen anything like it," said one city worker, who spoke on condition of anonymity.

. . .

"It's just something you want to get on film, to document this stuff. We may never see this again, for another 100 years," Agee said.

But it was not all fun. By 5 p.m. Thursday, about 6,000 homes remained without electricity, which had been knocked out in many neighborhoods about 7 p.m. Wednesday.

ABOVE ARE EXCERPTS

I'll try and get the predictions fulfilled about Saddam, the economy and Bush and post below if I can do it quickly. Have homework for teaching to do, too.

You're probably quite right and worthy listening to on that score.

I just think that Charismatics of all people ought to be inclined to demonstrate some amount of significant humility.

mania is as likely a label as a lot of others.

Who was it--the Episcopalian in Seattle who was in on the ground floor . . . said that everyone who was "Filled with The Spirit" ought to be locked up for 6 months first to give them time to integrate it sensibly into their lives and to learn to speak intelligently, wisely about such.

For me, his accuracy--growing accuracy to my impression--is enough of a clue to pay attention.

But FAR MORE IMPORTANT TO ME is how HE WORSHIPS GOD ALMIGHTY; THE LORD JESUS, THE CHRIST OF NAZARETH, BETHLEHEM, CALVARY, THE TOMB AND THE ASCENSION.

I love to watch and listen to him worship though I don't always enjoy every style of song he writes.

He clearly LOVES GOD with all his being. God seems to really enjoy that.

I admire it tons.

Throw rocks if you wish. I wouldn't encourage it toward someone THAT IN LOVE WITH GOD ALMIGHTY.

God can get very jealous in behalf of such people.

Among the footnotes, I found this to be an odd statement:

Pentecostals differ from Evangelicals and Fundamentalists in approach to the Bible. For Pentecostals the Bible is a living book in which the Holy Spirit is always active.

Don't most Christians experience the Bible as an actual manifestation of God?

I mean, for goodness sakes, even those hierarchical fuddy-duddies that have been hanging around for almost 2000 years have this to say on the subject:

the Christian faith is not a "religion of the book." Christianity is the religion of the "Word" of God, a word which is "not a written and mute word, but the Word which is incarnate and living." If the Scriptures are not to remain a dead letter, Christ, the eternal Word of the living God, must, through the Holy Spirit, "open [our] minds to understand the Scriptures."

Don't most Christians believe that there is a real interaction with God when they are reading the Bible? It hardly seems unique to Penetcostals.

HMMMMM MAYOR RUDY AND LARRY KING???! Interesting.

Also, some other predictions which came true.

From:

http://www.kimclement.com/FromKim.htm

This past year, God used me to speak many things prophetically.

CHANGE IN ABORTION LAWS (February 26th, 2003)-
“Though the battlefield waits hungry for blood, it shall not be satisfied. Though demonic powers cry out once again “give us more blood,” the only blood that they have received is the blood of the unborn within this Nation. They cry out for more. “Give us more blood.” It shall not come from the battlefield of war but from the battlefield of abortion, but this also shall come to an end rapidly. God says things shall change; after 7 months the laws will change in this Nation.”

CHANGE IN THE ECONOMY (February 26th, 2003) “For the economy of this Nation will change in 7 months. And the people will rejoice greatly.”
VICTORY FOR THE USA (February 26th, 2003) “There will be a sacrifice, for sacrifice is necessary. Even though some will sacrifice themselves and their lives, I have already determined that this Nation will rise above the storms, and that this Nation shall be lead into righteousness. Your enemies are about to become your footstool.” “May it be recorded tonight that one prophet in America prophesied God and His Son and His Victory into this battlefield. America, be strong, but also be free.”

21 DAYS TO BAGHDAD (February 27th 2003) “The prince of Persia and the principalities of Persia have once again stood up and said, “we will not allow you entrance into our territory.” But God says because of the prayers of the saints of the Most High God, I will surely stop its voice once again. And it shall take less than 21 days this time.” (This prophetic word was not only fulfilled, but was even confirmed by National news sources such as Time Magazine and National Geographic.)

VINDICATION FOR BUSH (September 2nd, 2003) “In the month of October I will bring your president to a place of vindication because of what I’m going to do and how I’m going to reveal it. America has been set-aside for the month of October for Divine Vindication. Even the economy shall be raised up and there shall be a break-through financially.” (October 31, 2003- Fox News reports “Bush Vindicated by Economic Recovery”)

RECORD BREAKINGS (October 3rd, 2003) - "Even as there shall be record breaking degrees once again and there shall be record breakings in winter. There shall be a breaking of a record in a very unusual place in the United States of America. They shall say, "This has never happened." It’s as if snow has fallen to the ground in a place that it has never fallen. And God said, Let this be a sign unto you, that this which I have prophesied, and that which I have spoken shall come to pass." (National News agencies are already reporting record-breaking degrees in many places.)

This year, God allowed me the privilege of privately ministering to Mayor Rudy Giuliani. I also ministered to Larry King as we had dinner to discuss my role as a prophet in the world and the distinct differences between my prophetic office and the psychic’s gift. An interview has been guaranteed for 2004. I was honored to minister to Mel Gibson with a personal word and many other men and women in the USA and abroad.
