Jawhol, schadenfreude...

Looks like the loss of US tourism Dollars isn't helping the situation, either.

France in a bleak mood? I am sooo sorry. It could not happen to a nicer bunch of frogs. As for America, I would say we have never felt better.

Is France still in the wine business? I haven't had a drop of French wine in about a year and now that I know that California and Australia make far better (and cheaper) wine, why would I ever go back?

Yep, cry my a river and all that. Reminds me of an article I read a few months ago that had the greatest title ever. Something along the lines of "France On Bended Knee, Yankees Won't You Come Back Please."

This should be copied and pasted on every republican piece of literature we have. What is destroying France is the EXACT SAME THING that the dems want to push on us.

Not a word about Muslim immigration, rampant crime related to it, or anti-Semitism.

This is us in 25 years, guys, if we don't get a grip on immigration, Social Security, and Medicare.

The WEF highlighted 'infernal social regulations, repetitive strikes, and a debilitating fiscal system which hinder the competitiveness of French enterprises'.

The problem is often linked to heavily-taxed businesses, inflexible labour laws and a very costly but inefficient public sector, which employs one in four workers.

Thirty per cent of state workers are unionised and there is a strike nearly every month in public sectors.

Some blame the 35-hour work week for aggravating the productivity problem and generating a non-enterprising and anti-innovative mentality.

It is also costly - with 13.7 billion euros (S$27 billion) needed since 1999 to subsidise the work reduction and job creation.

The budget is also constrained by increasingly unaffordable pension, health-care and welfare systems.

Can you say "Socialism"?

They can't.

I know how to fix them right up. Simply declare November to be SecondAugust and give them all the month off as a holiday. Then declare that no bathing/showering is permitted during a holiday month. Sure, the French economy will tank even further, but they'll all feel better about their smelly selves.
