Pat Piper, by day the PA announcer at Wrigley Field. At night he was the Head Waiter at one of the top hot spots downtown. (The Drake, I think.) I think you're right about him being a waiter. But I seem to remember he worked at the Ivanhoe. I could be wrong.

Nice pitch to strike out Lee (I seem to recall the "hollow of the knee" being part of the strike zone, for those of you who thought it was low). Lowell bounced to 3rd for out #2.
