I thought the same thing today. I remember '84 and I want them to stick the knife in tonight.
However, I do want to see them win this in Chicago. This town will go apesh**, I gaurantee you.
BTW - I think my ISP being based on the north side of the city might have something to do with the slowness.

I was in about an hour rain delay at Wrigley last month. They're not real fun there.

3, to be exact. Hoping for a reliever for Beckett in the 9th.
No runs, no hits, nobody left. After 7 1/2, it's 3-0, Marlins.

Why would he throw a change-up at his head?

Linie is okay beer -- I'm sure you'll be able to find a suitable substitute.
Still a SHUT-OUT going. Beckett is doing a swell job.
Go Cubbies!!

Why would a pitch that gets away go straight for the head?
Miracle 9th?

I can't complain - the guy's pitching one hell of a game. It's only a three run lead but it might as well be 23.
To: Prince Charles
I think it was a breaking ball that didn't break.
To: Allegra
btw . . a rain delay is the excuse you use to get an afternoon at the bar :)

Top of order in the 9th for Cubs. No Marlins warming up in the pen.
To: Prince Charles
If he wanted to send a message, he'd send it at 97mph, not 85mph.

Why would a pitch that gets away go straight for the head? Pitch mechanics; release early and it's going to come high. Release early and introduce a side-arm action, and it's going to come inside with a pair of right-handers (or a pair of left-handers).
