Their dad is an internationally famous bodybuilder and action movie hero. Their mom is a national television personality and part of an American political dynasty.

But the children of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver do not fit the stereotype of spoiled celebrity kids, friends and colleagues of the couple insist.

Nice post. Maybe some of those less disposed to Arnold & even (democrat!) Maria will give them some good credit for true, good, family values. I know I will.

Arnold had a very strong disciplinary background, and he is passing that on to his children

Can you imagine your Mom telling you to go to your room and wait until your Father gets home and then Arnold walks through the door?

Rarely photographed for public purposes, they live surprisingly "normal" lives at home in the Los Angeles area, friends said.

Just how successful was Arnold Schwarzenegger in protecting his kids from the spotlight? I'll tell you he was very successful. For I didn't even know he had kids until I read this piece. Honest. Good story and a good job by parents who seem to have their priorities straight.

BTW, my kids, similar ages, also do laundry, wash dishes, and do other chores around the house. It is so important to instill that in children. So many parents allow their kids to sit in front of the TV while they do everything. That is not right and it is not doing right by the kids either.

Mine too. Laundry, set the table clean their rooms and their bathroom. It's good for them to learn to be responsible and independent.

I'll bet they're good-looking kids, too.

I'm not a huge fan of Maria, but I'm not surprised that she's a good mother.

LOL!!! The only thing scarier than that is the thought of my own father walking through the door! This description of the Schwarzeneggers' homelife closely mirrors the way I was raised some 30-40 years ago, and I honestly didn't know that there were still parents out there who had the guts and determination to do it! Strong parents who have not fallen for the "kids just need to enjoy their childhood" line have my respect.

by several tens of orders of magnatude . . .

this is the loudest, clearest, most important and most impressive evidence yet

why voting for Arnold

was a wise move.
