The only way this will happen is the repeal of the 14th Amendment. "All persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the state wherein they reside...." I've been hoping our governmental folks would argue that illegal aliens purposefully do not make themselves "subject to the jurisdiction thereof" and thus the "anchor baby" is not an anchor - merely another illegal alien subject to deportation.

Thanks for the input, but I am not going to be holding my breath that FAIR will have any impact. You cite five cases spanning 105 years which support your position yet here we are with MILLIONS of illegals within our borders and the Federal gov. is giving lip service to fixing the problem.
If only the illegals had brought guns with them, then they would have been identified as the threat to our country they really are. Alas, unarmed invaders are welcomed with open arms and open government coffers (tax payer wallets).

That's because the politicos don't want to offend any potential voters our there. Whoever offers to do something about this will be vilified as a racist and will lose the Hispanic vote.

Something unusual is happening among the illegal immigrants who work in the lush fields of the San Joaquin Valley. The only unusual thing happening these days is the government isn't enforcing the law against illegal aliens. Strange, they have no problem doing that with all the other laws.

He would have to suck pretty bad for the party machine to go against him.I do not see anyone opposing "W" for the nomination and with the kind of "war chest" he's accumulated
he will not only be able to crush anyone the Democrats can throw at him he will undoubtedly spred it around to key congressional candidates as well.Sorry looks like your stuck with "W" for awhile.

That's silly and alarmist.
I repeat what I read in the headlines.
It's nothing to set up sting operations at "day laborer" sites. It's nothing to pick up folks using false Social Security numbers at their places of emploment.
Nothing, indeed. I'm sure it's worked about as well as anti-prostitution and anti-drug stings, but policemen should not shrink from arresting the middle class felon who wants to hire someone to rake their leaves for them. Say what you like about the illegals, but even employers who aren't in the habit of employing "day laborers" walk a fine line between having to do time consuming/expensive background checks on people their hire, inviting allegations of hiring discrimination, or hiring incompetent or overly expensive workers.
It's nothing to seek out Illegals using matricula consular ID cards.
Until the illegals figure out that having no matricula consular ID card makes them less likely to get into trouble.
It's also nothing, and no infringement on the liberties of any citizen or legal resident, to set up a mug shot and fingerprint database for the hundreds of thousands of Illegals that are apprehended every year.
Much less expensive than welfare. And much more convenient for anyone with brown skin, an accent, and no papers.

It's the Liberal Democrats and RINOs like Bush that are giving the problem of illegal immigration "lip service" instead of solving it.
They're the ones that are perpetuating the myth (actually a lie) that everyone born in the USA is a citizen of the USA. They know the truth.
A majority of Americans want illegal immigrants sent back home.
When FAIR wins in the Supreme Court, the lid's going to blow off this whole issue.

There are 13 months to go until the election. Justifying all of the American lives lost in Iraq is going to consume a large part of Bush's war chest. His failure on the domestic front will consume the rest.
Bush hasn't accomplished much and almost none of it is Conservative.

Here's the problem in a nutshell BOTH partys have something to gain from illegal immigration.Big buisiness Republicans want cheap labor. Democrats want to expand thier minority voting block.Either party could win an election or two by doing something about this but eventually it would come back to bite them in ass by poisoning the fastest growing minority in the U.S. against which ever party did it.So there you have it our two party system fighting over the votes of people that aren't supposed to be here in the first place.But there is hope something is slowly but surely being done there are more border patrol agents and it is more difficult to get across the border maybe if we keep the pressure up and continue to make this an issue more will be done in the future.

According to the polls, 59% of legal Hispanics are against illegal immigration. The majority of the legal immigrants from any minority group don't want these lawless, Marxist/Socialist leeches here either. There's nothing to
"bite them in the ass", if our politicians start deporting them.
The penalties for not deporting them, for all concerned, are clear.
