It seems to me that you have put your finger on the real issue: What is more important? Making money or your child?

NEVER leave a child who cannot talk with ANY stranger - day care, nanny, whatever. In fact, WHY would any mother leave a child so young in any case?

My point exactly. Neither my mother nor my wife's mother ever farmed us out to a stranger. Of course, our families didn't drive new cars, eat in restaurants, own large houses, etc..

My wife and I never put our children in daycare or hired nannies. We sacrificed our material gain in order to be parents-parenting wasn't something we did on the side.
