| Ken Hamblin on the Rita Cosby Show

Did anyone else hear the ludricrous statements that Ken Hamblin made on Rita's show just now?
Among other things, he said that "Rush was given the keys to the kingdom and let us down."
Then he proceeded to puff himself up, making a total jackass out of himself as far as I'm concerned.
I videotaped the whole segment and would replay it and transcribe it, but have to run out for a while right now.

It may be correct, if, as you suggest, one perceives Rush or Bennet to be purist ideologues.I think it's correct and I think the many people see them as purist ideologues, whether they really are or not.
I don't believe that either is, nor do I believe that most Americans do. Apparently you do, however.
It's OK what you believe but you don't know what I believe or what most Americans believe, which is OK, as well.
Moreover, if Rush is capable of coming back stronger than ever,....then he's not "damaged goods."
I agree with the first part and disagree with the second part.
We use the term to describe something that is permanently spoiled,...
You're reaching. I said, "...at least for the time being." Go back and read it.
No, I'm not playing semantics.
Yes, you are.
And I understand your point better than you do.
And you are arrogant.

To be Conservative often means adhering to Christian principles.
Leftists fail to understand that adhereing to Christian principles does not entail living the life of a saint 'lest we risk being hipocrits, but only *trying* to live the life of a saint and understanding we can only fall short.
Rush has my prayers. I wish I could caution him about life ahead. It's going to be hell on earth for an indefinite period of time. He has a good wife and devoted fans, the combination of which can help, if he allows it.

I think he should spend about an hour when he gets back, telling us how it REALLY has been and how it felt being addicted to pain killers through the last 6 years of broadcast excellence. If he can TRULY cough up about his double life, then that also will be part of his healing.
For example, he can talk about how lousy it felt to deceive us listeners. He can talk about the hypocrisy he felt, ducking around in parking lots dying for his next dose while being known by millions as a got-it-all-together man. Perhaps he can talk about the most difficult part of all: that it wasn't always about pain. That often it was to make him feel better, or euphoric. Remember his email to Wilma about how he wanted a lot of pills for the two weeks before his planned 2nd detox so he could "go out with a bang, hee hee." He enjoyed his drug usage, and no doubt he turned to pills when things weren't going right. I hope he can turn his demons inside out by confessing them to us and then relying on other things to get him through his future hard times. And I hope in turn that we can help him.

She did know. But she liked riding the gravy train, didn't want to rock the boat, and didn't want to kill the goose who was laying the 35 million dollar a year golden egg. This statement right here speaks volumes about you. You OUGHT to be ashamed of yourself, but I have no doubt you think that you're clever.

It's a good thing that Rush won't be hearing anything for the next 30 days. This will be very tough for Marta. We should remember her in our prayers too.

The Black Avenger has a right to his opinion... we don't know what Rush did, if he really screwed up, well then we'll move on quite easily for we are not dependent on one man like the Dems (billary)

I am upset about Asner's comment about Sean Hannity being the next one they go after. Yeah, what vice will they uncover with Sean? Bennett had a few cards up his sleeve, Rush a few little blues up his, and what's Hannity going to have? Maybe a few too many brownies? What next; does Larry Elder read romance novels??

I'm clever enough to be realistic about human nature; obviously you are extraordinarily naive about it.

Wasn't it Dr Laura's mother whose decomposing body was found in her apartment weeks after her death and whom Dr Laura had not called or checked on in months even though they lived in the same city? Sadly, Dr. Laura seriously has been hypocritical in so many, many ways. In fact, the things she slams the most are the things she herself has done. But won't admit. Like taking someone else's man away from his wife and three kids.
At least Rush really does stand for 99.9% of all the ideals he espouses. So he may have bashed a few drug abusers. I bet he secretly bashes himself all the worse for having gotten into the same mess. He has values and I believe he will not do a Dr. L and simply pretend he never broke them. I believe he will do what is required (in the Torah): sincerely be sorry, sincerely apologize, donate to help others in these sad situations, and sincerely set about to righting those wrongs of deceit and dishonesty and lawbreaking. For the latter, I hope he voluntarily suggests serious community service and goes around to speak about the evils of prescription drug abuse.

I hope he will share with all of us what really happened. I think Rush would be willing to do that to help others who are in a similar circumstance. He could do a lot of good that way.
That could be one silver lining in this cloud.

Who is Ken Hamblin? His whole schtick is racism (from a supposedly conservative perspective). IMO he has attacked Rush because of the ESPN incident and because of past jealousy. No wonder he has dropped to the bottom of the talk show barrel, only to be dredged up by the Libs as their token negro conservative to attack Rush. Feh.

IMO, what LJ wants is what all of the Fascists want -- to snuff out the opposing views. They are of course hypocrites and cowards.
To: WackyKat
obviously you are extraordinarily naive about it. No possibility at all in your mind that she was right there, worried sick? That she saw what was happening but was torn between knowing her husband suffered pain and knowing that the meds were hurting him?
Maybe she trusted too much in her husbands strength or his sense of honor to really believe that he could get so deeply into trouble.
I don't profess to know Marta at all. I've never heard her make one statement about anything, never heard her quoted except e-mails that Rush read aloud. I have no basis at all upon which to make a judgement about her.
You prefer to make nasty judgements about someone, I presume, you have never met and know almost nothing about. That is disgusting and needlessly cruel.
