F-16s Scrambled Over Eilat Following Aerial Trespass

(IsraelNN.com) Two F-16 fighter jets were scrambled over Eilat this afternoon after an unidentified civilian aircraft entered Israeli airspace. It appears the aircraft, on its way to a neighboring Arab country, strayed from its air lane in Jordanian airspace. The pilot obeyed instructions to return to the proper aerial lane.

The low altitude flight of the fighter craft resulted in the sonic boom disturbing the tranquil afternoon in the Eilat area.

Could they be testing Israel's aerial response, in preparation for a 9/11 type attack in Israel?

They will never succeed.

I can't believe they even bothered to warn the plane... so little time required to get someplace populated.

They should do more patrols, especially spyflights over the West Bank and maybe Gaza, since it would only take a second to pass it up. So tiny.

"Pilot is lucky he got a warning."

Pilot is even luckier he immediately obeyed the warning. Could have been confetti spread over a half mile of the surface.
