If you utilize a drug exactly as told, and are harmed as a result, there should be a recourse. When Oxycontin users abuse the drug (as Rush has here) that's a failure on their part and no one else's. Make sense?
BTW, I'm sorry about your aunt. What drug was she prescribed?
Pain killers can be very addictive. Doctors know this and they should be very strict with their prescriptions.

I don't remember the name of the drug. I am not involved with the lawsuit other than advising my cousins on very good legal counsel. They have one of the best lawyers in the country. All I know is that there is already a class action lawsuit against the manufacturer and that the drug was pulled after only 7 months on the market. My mother was also prescribed this same drug. Fortunately, she never got the prescription filled.
I have close friends that represent the drug companies (detail men as they are known). They are so brain-washed that they believe the drugs they sell is about as dangerous as M&Ms.
I couldn't remember at first but it was Rezulin. My mother lost her twin sister at 62 years of age because of this drug. I am not one of those "sue happy" people but it makes me mad how careless the drug company was with this drug. My mother lost her twin sister and my aunt's children lost their mother because of this drug. It's reported that the drug company looked the other way when patients were dying of liver failure.
The drug companies are all about PROFIT. They would sell snake oil for a profit.
