World War II veteran Chauncey Rowan suffered through the hell of a Nazi prison for his country.

Rowan was injured, nearly killed, forced into solitary confinement and had to live on little more than powdered milk and Spam for one year.

I am glad to read about this hero.

On another note, anybody who is made to eat Spam for one year is also some kind of hero. I consider that cruel and unjust punishment. YECK!!!!

Lt. Chauncey Rowan. 350th Fighter Squadron. P-47D 42-76280 LH-D "Jenny". Chauncey went down in this a/c due to flak damage on 21 May 1944 to become a POW.
