I see there's currently 48,000 Priests in the U.S. and over the last 50 years, I think I read the number was 150,000. Anyone know the number of "Priests" who've been convicted in the pederasty scandal?

Not sure, the last number I remember coming forward about accused is 500.
The larger problem is that the corporate headship is who covered up the sexual abuses, and transferred the Priests more than twice
This also brings up how many never came forward, how many molestations caused suicides
And it also ask just how many generations has this been going on? People freely come forward now, there is money to be made. Previous generations were told to suck it up and get over it.

Anyone know the number of "Priests" who've been convicted in the pederasty scandal? Actually convicted, would be Geoghan, possibly Shanley. Accused - less than 50.
Pinging the catholic list.

I could care less about the number. What I care about is the cover-up, obfuscation, payoffs and dismissive attitudes.
These were children. The more innocent the victim, the more heinous the crime. The church systematically dealt with this wide-spread problem like a mafia family.
I don't care if it was two children instead of thousands. The fact that they covered it up for so long means they KNEW there was evil in their house and did NOTHING to eradicate it.
