Every large ship entering a US port gets an American pilot.
And the original story wasn't about cruise ships, it was a about the supposed "supertanker" threat.

As one who has experienced a bout of "shipborne illness" while traveling on a cruise ship, I believe they will not bother with them.
The cruise lines are doing a fine job without their help. [/sarcasm]
