Rush states that he's tried detox twice before--obviously for a lesser period of time. I must assume he's enrolling in a 30-day program this time given that the cat's out of the bag. I have no doubt that this is his choice.

Detox, at least when it comes to alcohol, is nicknamed "spin-dry," at least according to my RN sister who worked at a psychiatric hospital. It's usually a 72 hour "get 'em dry & get 'em out the door" quick fix. Rehab is usually a minimum 30 day treatment, if you're talking in-patient. It can be longer.

Of course its his choice, but junkies always say that.
Again, Rush was a perfectly functioning drug addict who built a great business, participated in one of the great populist uprising of our time in Impeachment; if he decided this past week that he personally has hit rock bottom and can't stand it anymore, great, but the timing is a little bit odd for me to believe that.
