However, *if* it turns out he did, I think even Rush would agree he should receive the proper punishment under the law.

I agree he would. I just have very little patience for the folks on this forum who are quick to "eat our own" rather than wait for real charges. The only charges leveled so far have been by the media, not the authorities. I prefer to wait and see what the real charges are.

Your citation is interesting but not entirely germaine to what we know from anyone other than the National Enquirer. He took legal medication with a prescription for back pain and became addicted. We know this... why don't we wait to add fuel to his stake until we hear real charges from someone other than the media...

Not touchy, just dealing with reality. I can't be a hypocrite and pray for Rush, because praying for Rush would be tantamount to being sympathetic to his present state. He brought himself to where he is all on his own. I've been a faithful Rush listener since the first Gulf War, and although I hope Rush gets this monkey off his back, I can't be as understanding as others have been. As I've said before here and on other threads, there are alot of unanswered questions regarding the length of his addiction, how he obtained his painkillers, etc.

If you'd checked your dictionary, you'd have seen that under the word SORRY, you'll find the following definition or something like it: Feeling or expressing sympathy, pity, or regret. So, when I said I couldn't feel sorry for Rush, it was no different than when I said I could not sympathize with Rush's condition.

These leftist vermon better come up with something of more moral gravity than this, if they expect to bring down Rush!

Addicted to prescription pain Medication? Is that the best these communistic freaks of society can come up with, in a desperate attempt to hopefully destroy a man's character?
P L E A S E ? And because of this addiction to pain meds,( which I am able to relate to) we are supposed to believe that he has no morals, and is after all a hoax!

I don't think so! No, not today!

Especially after being exposed to all the years of Left wing depravity that has been so proudly displayed by the likes of the Clintonoid's, the Kennedys, the Barney Franks, the Jesse Jackson's ect, ect!
And the Left dares to make a moral judgement? HA!

You Creeps (and you know who you are) better get real!

All I said to you from the start was that no one ASKED for your sympathy, including Rush.

How it got to your latest rant to me is completely beyond my understanding. Perhaps you have attributed comments to me that were made by others?

Could there be criminal charges for soliciting drugs through legal channels? To the best of my knowledge, no one has ever been arrested for this. Circumstances in which there would be legal trouble would be seperate issues, such as reselling them illegally, falsifying prescriptions, defrauding insurance companies/workmen's comp, or legal charges brought by state/federal regulatory boards against doctors demonstrating an apparent consistent pattern of dispensing controlled substances outside of the normal guidelines of medical practice. (A good example of this would be the Florida doctor who set up office in a motel room and issued hundreds of prescriptions each day without performing exams or keeping any real documentation of medical care.)
