Although his late-night "Hot Seat" won him national fame and the company of the rich and powerful, George never got rich, spending money as he made it.Santa Anita racetrack.

I met Wally a couple of years ago, and I can attest that he was a warm, gracious, friendly and loquacious fellow---full of engaging tales about his checkered career, his unfortunate estrangement from his daughter Rebecca DeMornay, and his acquaintance with famous Americans like Ronald Reagan. I am very sorry he has passed away. May God bless him.
