For 30 day facilities the rate is less than 30% recovery.

It seems to me that Rush avoided help for years because of the publicity.

Now, it might be because of the publicity that he is successful. All the eyes of the world will be upon him and many want him to fail. Rush seems like the type to want to prove the enemy wrong.

My own unscientific opinion for that some is that "low-level" addicts who come in do not take in what they learned, Ironically, I think the hard corae addict has a better chance at recovery.

Secondly, time and experience has born out that a spiritual program (like a 12 step program) is needed to rebuild the soul in order for the addict to get on with his life. I think many feel that rehab alone will suffice.

I wonder what the rate of recovery is for avowed conservatives who have millions of people watching their backs. Probably much higher.

(Avowed conservatives because rock stars go straight back into a lifestyle that all but actively supports drug abuse.)
