That's the truth, he didn't admit his problem at some noble time. He did it when his back was against the wall and the world is crashing down on him. All thanks to drugs.

"Ah, maybe we could start a daily Rush Prayer Thread"
"Please tell me that that was sarcasm, people. Please."
I am not joking. Prayer is very powerful. Plus, I have learned through personal experience that the more support one receives on the Road to Recovery, the better ones chances are for success. We all know Rush reads Freerepublic, and a prayer thread could help him immensely.
One of the main reasons why I am still sober today (after going into treatment at the age of 14 on November 3rd 1987) is because of n=my belief in a higher power and because I do not want to let my family and friends down.
If anyone knows how to start a daily prayer thread
please ping me on it.

He has a lot of courage.Funny how so many junkies suddenly find courage when caught. If he hadn't been caught, he'd still be buying and taking his illegal narcotics and he'd still be a drug addict pushing his drug induced nonsense out over the airwaves. We live in very strange times.

I know, I've been clean and sober since October 26, 1930. WTF are you talking about? Were you a member of the Oxford groups or something? AA wasn't even started until 1934.

Jesus delivered me from addiction by the power of prayer alone. I have not been tempted to use drugs since then. I am still amazed.
I think Rush needs Jesus. It's really been the one thing missing in his life. For all he's done, he always seemed to love the world more than God, and I think that led him to this trouble. The fame, money, golf tourneys, public appearance that came with his success shook the foundation he built on loose soil. He tried to fill the void with everything but Christ, including pills. It didn't work. The Lord has given him this opportunity to truly come clean, not just clear himself legally or get back to his show. If Rush never utters another political comment over the air, fine. He's done enough good for a lifetime in that regard. Now is the time for him to put all he has in His hands.

2. I do not think that the American public should be forced to pay for my prescription drugs. I can smile at that AND wish RUSh the best at the same time.

Sorry if I snapped at you there.
To: Admin Moderator
The Admin Mod pulled several threads because the Admin Mod didn't want there to be dozens of threads about the same thing, with the discussion being fragmented all over the place. The Admin Mod was pretty sure this was coming. The Admin Mod had this thread up for that purpose, and The Admin Mod had it in breaking and the Admin Mod updated the title to reflect what he said as fast as the Admin Mod could while also taking care of pulling the dozen of duplicate threads.
Good work.
Thank you for the clarification. Sometimes we don't know all the background work being done by the Moderators, and we may overreact.

Talking about drug addiction being an illness is typical leftwing victimization.
Now, I do know doctors are to blame sometimes too, since they get people hooked on stuff when they should not. However, the primary blame goes to the addict for getting addicted in the first place. And like has been said, Rush did not open up to us on his own, he did it when forced.

Thanks fer the ping...I was in a meeting and missed the admission. Rush'll be missed while he's gone, but will be better for the treatment once he returns. His health must come first and I'm glad he's determined to take care of the problem.

Brett Favre was addicted to pain meds as well. He checked into a clinic and beat the problem.

What if you found out he was reading literotica.com? What's wrong with having a taste for fine literature?

Rush has asked for our prayers. He will definitely need them. With the help of God, he can pull through this without too much hell.
I suspect he may think he has gone to hell before it is over. We all need to pray for him daily. He has given us all, so much.
