Before the Liberal Media Goes Any Further, Let Them Dwell On This Bit Of Recorded History (and Imus and Crew Joke About An Addiction Which Is Far More Evi l)

Don Imus has been demonstrably clean and straightened-out for a good number of years. let's revisit limbaugh in as-many years and see if the same holds true for him.

In all likelyhood he will be more antidrug after treatment is completed. Every deal with an ex-smoker? I don't smoke, but geeze.

Good point. :)

"...about 6-7 years ago, which didn't work. He then got hooked."

That would be circa '97, like when something else was beginning-- Hate is a more powerful drug than all else.

No offense good buddies ( A little Maynard G. Krebs lingo), but I have been on both sides of addiction issues, and it’s very complicated. It is one thing to get high for kicks, and another to have excruciating pain from a medical condition.

Pain medication for a medical condition can allow you to lead an almost normal life, but you have to manage it, and monitor it, or you will get hooked.

I doubt he could wind up with anything above a misdemeanor; probably no charges. LE doesn't really want users, so much as dealers.

LE is interested in users and dealers alike. There are a ton of users-only in federal prison as we speak.

Did you hear that Ed Asner said if he was in a movie today he would like to portray Stalin!?!? He thinks Ole Joe was underrated.

(Most mass murders get a bad rap, and he wonders why!) Amazing.

I guess women have a higher tolerance for pain than men.

I had four operations in my life and I will need more.

I was given a choice of pain killer and refuesed it.

I never had back pain and I know that can be excruciating.

I have had earaches when a child and it can drive you out of your mind.

I truely feel for Rush will not judge for he was able to function and do what needed to be done.

BTW I did have a Hernia and lived with it for a couple of years it was unbearable when I was walking around.

Herniated disks on the spine is something else. Trying to find a way to sit or sleep. Considering his job is to sit so many hours a day.

I never walked in your shoes nor Rush so whom am I to judge another how they will handle trials.

I know he will be able to over come this because he has great concentration to stay focused.

I have learned from Rush don't let the world define who you are and what one is able to do with God help.

The Lord forgives us and he has also commanded us to forgive one another.

Rush is not a hypocrite he was between a rock and a hard place. He tried twice to kick this it is harder when one has so many traders in this country who pile on when one is going through ruff times.

It would have been better when one could do this in the open but the enemie are unrelenting.

I don't care what anyone thinks of me I will stand by those who strive to do the right thing.

It's pretty sad that there is an element here who finds it easier to beat him up as opposed to holding him up and supporting him when he needs it.

He has asked for our prayers and our support. That's no less than what many of us have asked from our fellow FReepers. Why can't we give him what we so freely give our fellow FReepers?

You never cease to amaze Mhking. I'm glad to have met you if only here at FR. Your kindness and understanding towards those who have fallen is one of the greatest attributes a person can have, because it reflects the goodness of your heart.

It has been my experience that the ones who are prompt to throw stones are the ones who know nothing or little about the person in question. They are in general hypocritical, intolerant, and not very bright. They love gossip, spread half-truths, and are easily manipulated. As long as they have someone to talk about, as long as they can point fingers, they are "better than anyone."

The question is, how did Rush respond to these stories? Did he sound honest and humble when he confessed to his audience?

Rush won't go down, if he loses some of the "stone-throwers" he will gain many others.

May God protect him and guide him.

Once you realize that reality, maybe you won't be so damned smug, like Hillary.

Dane, you know I'm smug not because I'm right in every WOD thread, but because I'm just that damned good looking, like the Michael Jackson guy in "The Wedding Singer". I might not be around much this weekend. Have a good one.

Thanks for your heartfelt reply! As I understand it from conservative radio reports, Rush has two herniated disks in his back and the pain migrated to the siatic nerve an went both up to the neck and down to his legs.

I belive totally in non-traditional medicine for this type of problem. I have had severe back problems stemming from two severe breaks in my right leg resulting in 1" or better difference in leg length. The consequence was scoliosis (sp?) giving rise to siatic nerve problems that have migrated - my neck and right ankle lock up virtually simultaneously on occasion.

My salvation has been NUCCA - Neck and Upper Cranial Chiropractic Association. There are only about 400 NUCCA practicioners in the US - they fix stuff no one else can figure out. Regular chiropractic can make some delicate neck problems worse....NUCCA folks can deal with them.

Pardon me for being religious about this topic - but NUCCA Chiropractors are the most under recognized healers of severe back pain in the US. If anyone would like to talk further about this "off the air" send me a Priv Mail via FR and I'd be happpy to respond. I see two different NUCCA therapists...one in Seattle and one in San Diego.

They fix things when nothing else works!

Just saw your post. I had cluster headaches for years, it was the most painful thing I have ever endured. I really thought I would die from the pain.

I think Rush will be stronger than ever and he'll bring a whole new batch of listners when he comes back. He has a lot of guts.

This week started out so good for the left and it's turned out to be a disaster.

Sweetheart, Rush IS a druggie

There are those who use drugs to function in the world. There are those who use drugs not to function in the world.

A druggie is in the latter group. Rush is in the former.

Betamethasone is a steriod, not an opiate.

Cluster headaches are treated briefly with steriods and for longer periods of time with anti-convulsants; Tegretol, in particular. Anti-convulsants are not addictive. Cluster headaches are believed to have a causal relationship with heavy smoking and/or allergies and are referred to as "suicide headaches."*
