"There's a bill that Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) has introduced that I think is terrific. It gives temporary working permits to immigrants so they can come in and out of this country, out of this state, and also, you know, there's another idea. Undocumented immigrants who come here before August 2003 can apply for visas especially if they don't have a criminal background. And if they have a job right now, they can apply for that visa. So there are different programs I want to push in that direction to help undocumented immigrants."

If it walks like amnesty, talks like amnesty...well, you know...I thought (R)nold was so much better because Cruz was going to run this state into the ground with illegals?

Amnesty is going to happen and more illegals will arrive and the cylcle will repeat until the borders are controlles. If the Republicans don't grant amnesty, then the Democrats will. Either way, it's goin to happen again.

Didn't anybody listen to his campaign speeches? You mean when he would refer to them as illegal immigrants which has now been replaced with undocumented workers.
I believe he also said he was against ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION believing they should come here the way he did and that he would repeal driver licenses to illegals. Yesterday he reiterated his commitment to repeal the law but apparently McCain & Co. and Drier changed his thinking about deporting the lawbreakers. It's only when he sees the cost vs. benefits of having them live here illegally, will he realize one reason why California is in the financial straits they're in today.

He wants more money for schools, more money for medical care, more money for this and that. But he doesn't want California to pay for it. Got his hand out to DC, the rest of the country can take California on as a welfare state.

Congressman Dreier: Congratulations on your success and promotion to Transition Director for the Schwarzenegger governorship.
Please do not hijack the recall.
My feedback is about what the Governor-elect has tragically said about illegal immigration yesterday:
"I want to push in the direction to help undocumented workers . . . making undocumented workers documented and legal," Schwarzenegger said at Wednesday's press conference.
This is a big mistake coming on the heels of a landslide recall election. Are you listening to the voters at all? Everyone knows that Davis's attempt to pander to immigrants via drivers licenses for illegals led to a huge turnout of voters creating a political backfire on Davis.
No amount of loosening of border restrictions will help the problems caused by allowing law-breakers to solve the huge burden on law enforcement (prisons filled with 25% illegals) and burden on finances of California - estimated in billions per year. On the contrary just giving illegals documents will only encourage further law breaking. Meanwhile this policy flies in the face of trying to protect the homeland security from entry of terrorists.
The vast majority of people voted for proposition 187 with the same force that the present governor was recalled. Listen to those people or open yourself to similar recall by the same people who will not forget 187.
Do not attempt to hijack the recall for narrow GOP purposes opposed to the will of the people expressed in this election and in the vote for Proposition 187.
Do not hijack the recall.

Willie Davis was not a suprise?
He did say he would lobby for amnesty he
just made it more specific and therefore
some people who were living in denial
of the fact he come out for amnesty can
no longer deny it.
But of course this is a little late for waking
up.
