So there are different programs I want to push in that direction to help undocumented immigrants."

If the only way to prove you have a job is to prove that you paid income tax and social security for the time that you worked, it might have possibilities.

Eliminates from consideration all the "sub-contractors" in the construction field, for one. The ones that use the sub-contractor laws to bypass taxes.

I think he said at a presser after the debate that he was embracing the McCain plan. I believe it was also listed on his website. The "conservatives" on this forum and the state Republican Party chose to ignore this. Arnold won. 'Nuff said.

Applying for a visa is not the same thing as getting citizenship. It's another way to document workers properly

But analysts at Project USA, a Washington, D.C.-based group that advocates reducing legal immigration to "sustainable levels," says despite the bill's language, it is designed to accomplish the same thing as amnesty.

"What the bill actually does is give illegal aliens the option of either returning to their home countries or obtaining a visa that allows them to remain in the country and eventually gain permanent legal status – hardly an encouragement to the illegal alien to return home," says an e-mail alert issued by Project USA.

Craig Nelson, the organization's executive director, says the bill won't stop illegal immigration.

"Like every amnesty before it, it will only make it worse," he told WorldNetDaily. "It sends yet another signal to billions around the world that we're really not serious about immigration policy, so come on in."

On joinarnold.com, this is what Arnold has to say on immigration. Quote: "[l]et me be clear: I do not support an amnesty program". Arnold then goes onto to say: "Deportation is not an option. We need to find a way to legitimize these individuals and get them on a path toward legal residency status in the United States". Arnold also says: "Washington should pursue a responsible immigration policy that offers undocumented immigrants a path to permanent legal status".

That's called amnesty folks.

In addition, Arnold has mentioned nothing about cutting taxpayer funding for social welfare programs that are being utilized by both illegal aliens and societal deadbeats. Arnold wants the federal government to pick up more of the costs for California's illegal immigrants. Arnold has no intention of reducing social welfare benefits in California for anyone.

The "conservatives" ignored this and lot of other stuff. For some reason, they think that CONSERVATISM == REPUBLICAN PARTY. This guy is going to make the "liberal" Jerry Brown look like Barry Goldwater (Oh I Forgot - he(Goldwater) is now considered a "liberal" because he had problems with some of Reafan's actions).
It never ceases to amaze me the mental gyrations people go through to claim conservatism. Then again, after listening to talk radio , I am not suprised ....

Maybe McClintock should have spent some time in the gym and gotten pumped up a bit. Maybe that would have convinced some folks. Feh!

Now, let's watch and see how the (R)nold-bots continue to defend his liberal policies as they get exposed in the coming weeks.

you can't. I had a client with a multiple one case records. the felony pulled it all together and screwed him. He is legal today.

Those are the employer visas (I work with a guy who my employer is extensively using to undercut American workers...he's NEVER going home)

Without Arnold, Bustamente would not have been attacked on the Indian money - ( Tom's hands were in the same pot so he would not do it ) so it would have been Davis or Cruz in the top slot.

The problems exists. Unless you are delusional, you know the federal government is never going to deport 4 million illegals.

I think this is a very good practical program to document these people and get them on the books. It also cuts off at the knees the illegals and thier supporters. They will have no excuses for sneeking in.

I actually heard him describe Prop 187 as "dead" just a moment after saying he supported it.

Well, I wouldn't hold out much hope of these visas stopping anybody, a little covered story in the campaign is that even the Gov Elect once violated his visa from Austria.
