[history]
Conservative talk show host Melanie Morgan couldn't resist a little day-after gloating Wednesday, wallowing in the afterglow of a Republican measuring the drapes in the governor's mansion.
"Vindication is a powerful word," said Morgan, who helped birth the recall petition drive on the KSFO-AM 560 morning show she co-hosts. "Almost from the beginning, every liberal media outlet in the state referred to us as right- wing fanatics, a fringe political movement. We were derided as complete nutballs.

I can't acknowledge ever Radio , media, or Recall supporter here by name off the top of my head, but if you know of these fine folks and would like to use this thread to list their names and station letters, PLease Do!
They subjected themselves to ridicule and scorn by those same people who will also benefit from the Recall. That, to measure, is the measure of True Patriotism, imo.
Thank You Melanie, Shawn, Lee, Michael, Hugh, Brian, Brian, David, Mark, Occifer Vic, Roger, Steve, Ted, Darrell, John and Ken, Larry, Eric, and so many more.... Thank You Thank You, Thank You!!!!

I believe that Darryl Issa deserves the chance to run in the senate against Babs the Boxer...

Al Rantel (KABC) had Howard Kaloogian on very early talking about proposing the recall. Callers said he had no chance, but Rantel was onboard early & had Kaloogian & other recall proponents several more times.

I'm still grinning from ear to ear over this. My neighbor last night said I could remove the "Dump Davis" bumper sticker from my car now. I replied that yes, I guess I can, now that Davis has been dumped. He said "unceremoniously dumped". I just grinned - ear to ear. Neighbor is a democrat - SF bay area, so what else can I expect?

John and Ken were stalwarts in this effort. Their contributions were incredible. Getting in Gloria Allred's face and calling her a "cartoon character" a few days ago was marvelous. And yesterday they introduced Bob Mulholland as "Baghdad Bob Mulholland." He demanded an apology, John would not apologize, and Mulholland hung up. It was their quickest interview ever -- 8 seconds.
They can be heard from 3-7pm on the net --- www.kfi640.com

Even though the editorial boards of most of California's major daily newspapers -- including The Chronicle -- opposed the recall, "it was ho-hum, nobody cares," said Shawn Steel, a former California GOP chairman who was one of the recall's early leaders. "Historians will look back on this election as the time that the combination of the Internet and talk radio overtook the power of daily newspapers." Amazing. The San Francisco Chronicle, reporting its own irrelevance.

Every talkshow host in California apparently takes credit for birthing the idea of the recall. Melanie Morgan at KSFO certainly thinks she came up with the idea, and as a result, seemed to assert a proprietary interest in how the whole thing turned out. Often, she seemed irked that Arnold Schwartzenegger was going to reap the benefit of "her recall." It was interesting to hear Kaloogian's and Ted Costa's diplomatic appeasing of Melanie in her delusion. Whenever she takes credit for being the Mother of the Recall in on-air conversations with them, they politely never confirm nor deny her claim.

There's coming a day when Baghdad Bob Mulholland will beg to get 8 seconds on someone's radio show.

at first the soviet union-tribune in san diego opposed the recall.
but later the feminists that run the paper yielded to the republican owners and backed the recall.
that was after it became obvious that the recall would succeed.

Diitos,
Jon and Ken have been RELENTLESS. They and Issa are to thank for educating the public on the shenanigans of Joe "Gumby" Davis.

I mostly listened to John and Ken during RECALL. They really did lead the way in S. California. Sometimes, I have on two radios and a show on the internet. Yes, I am certifiable.

Yes, you .. urrrr.. I tried two radios but.. had to give it up, Rush and O'reilly do not mix well, at all. (O-Really got the boot, btw.)

I know what you are talking about. I moved over to John and Ken too. They really did do a good job on the recall and, as far as I know, they are the only people who have ever succeeded in getting Baghdad Bob to shut up.

This is great. Talk radio's real impact on state taxing matters began here in Tennessee. From 2000 on we had a RINO governor, Don Sundquist, who tried to force a state income tax on us and ran up spending almost as badly as Davis did in California. We stopped him cold and would have recalled him if our constitution allowed it. One of the biggest reasons for our victory was the heroic work done buy Phil Valentine and Steve Gill, two tireless talk radio hosts in Nashville, our state capitol.
This year, when the RINO governor of Alabama tried to stuff a massive tax increase down the throats of the people of Alabama, talk raido hosts rose up and defeated him, just as Sundquist was defeated.

Dittos. John of John & Ken particularly went after the leftist loons with a vengeance.
