"The CLEAR bill, currently in the House of Representatives, would require local law enforcement officers to report illegal immigrants to the federal government, undermining use of the matricula consular."
I hadn't heard about this, but it sounds like a good idea.

What they ought to do is realize prosperity doesn't HAVE to end at the California - Baja border. Go home and fix up home. That coastline could just keep going on southward if Mexico would just adapt and allow it's citizens to be middle class.
Fox and his fellow elites might be shaking in their boots now, just quivering over the thought that they can't send up all their many poor ---- most who are poor because of them in the first place. Maybe they'll consider some serious reforms --- but I doubt it.

If we need special visas for vegetable pickers, let's do it.
But the rule of law is what freedom is built upon.
They are lawbreakers, by definition. We'll handle the consequences.

A smart gringo would start the " Picked by Whites" vegetable company"
Put a label on it that says " Mexican-Free Food" or something like that.

Arnold is social liberal, and will not take any action deemed offensive to the illegal his potential future voters in the immigrant population of Kalifornia.

Imagine the money that Mexico could make by allowing foreign born citizens to simply own property.
The entire Baja peninsula could developed with resorts, vacation homes, hotels, golf courses, and all of the peripheral businesses that go with that.
Jobs up the ying yang.
Mexico is just stupid.

That is so lame. We have millions more illegals in the USA than are needed to pick vegetables.

Yep and they are very hypocritical too. They don't let illegals stay in their country at all.I have a friend that lives in Mexico City and she says they are always de-porting the illegals that come from south of their border's. Very silly of them to think we like illegals "spilling" over our borders...

Let me see if I get this straight -- a member of the opposition party of the Mexican Congress and a Quaker(!) raise concern and this merits the headline "Mexicans Fear . . ."
No bias there.
To: Weimdog
Mexico is just stupid. It is very stupid. Something like you suggest would bring prosperity into Mexico, instead they believe they can do that by sending poverty out ---- but all this massive immigration from Mexico has not improved Mexico at alll, it's become like a giant welfare ghetto, people sitting around waiting for the monthy wire of money to come in so they can buy groceries and pay their bills. Nothing is being built or invested.
