On the Radio Factor yesterday, O'Reilly (briefly) alluded to Franken's surge in sales, claiming that there has been some sort of massive buy of that book, as well as Michael Moore's newly-released tome. O'Reilly didn't offer any specifics to back it up, so it may have been sour grapes. On the other hand, it's a well-known fact that many book sellers are liberal, and give favored books a prominent position in their stores. As I recall, when O'Reilly's first book came out, you had to ask for it in the bookstore, and it was usually buried on a back aisle, to drove down potential sales...

What has the Pope done for peace?

As others have noted, Pope John Paul II was a major player in bringing down the Soviet Empire. He was also a resistance fighter in Poland against the Nazis. Basically, if this happens, it amounts to a "lifetime achievement" award.

Unfortunately, again as others have noted, the actual citation will probably give the Pope's willingness to join with those who wanted Saddam Hussein left in power, and will be used as another excuse to take a swipe at the United States, as was done when Jimmy Carter won last year.

Sadly, I'm sure the dead and tortured under Sadam didn't think this was too helpful for their sense of peace. Too bad the Pope wasn't as concerned about the Iraquis as he was about those in Kosovo..........even though the death toll is much higher in Iraq.

I just hve one question ... Does anyone know of anyone that has actually bought Frankin's book??

Through my various businesses I interact with literally hundreds of peeples a week. Many are liberals. I often ask that question of them. Firstly, none have ever bought an Al Frankenstein book. Secondly, many voice their embarassment at Al Frankenstein being a lib.

The dems were trying to figure out why they lost in 2002 and they bemoaned the fact that talk radio was all conservative and that conservatives ruled the bestseller lists in the non fiction catergory. They were also concerned they couldn't chip away at Bush's integrity with the American people.

I have noticed every left wing kook in the world is coming out with a book. That gives them face time for interviews with like minded media shrills. I sincerely believe that there is some dnc bulk book buying going on.

They think that having their books on the NYT bestseller list will help them win elections. They think that smearing Rush will cause him to loose his audience. They think they can permenately erode the public's trust of President Bush if they say the "leak" scandal is worse than Watergate.

It never occurs to liberals that their lack of logic and ideas is what dooms them to failure. At some point they have to convince the American people that they have more substance than just Bush hating.
