Chalcedon--the foundation behind this movement--explicitly believes that non-Christians (and I am not a "Christian" by their reckoning, as I am a Catholic) should be legally prohibited from voting, running for office, or otherwise engaging in any aspect of political life. Is that a fact?

Contrary to the great one's thinking, many of the original states did have certain requirements for holding office within the state. Belief in God Almighty (note the phrase insinuating the Judeo-Christian God) and certain moral standards. Some of these statues were in place as late as the 1960s but begin to run up against the 'enlightened'. If I'm not mistaken one of the statutes is still in place. Can't remember which state. 4CJ, I'm thinking it's either Maryland or NC. Do you remember?
