I believe Arnold comes across as a big teddy bear--with a frat boy sense of humor--Slapping a woman on the butt is sort of his style. Remember when they tried to get Errol Flynn for having sex with two 17 year olds in the 1940s? He beat the rap. Flynn was expected to sleep with anything in a skirt. There wasn't any shock--even then people thought any girl who went out with Errol Flynn knew the score. Also, Maria was there to counter the negative effect of the "Gropping" charges. He should give her a big kiss for "standing by her man."
