*L* Sorry, you also don't get to place the burden of DISproving your conclusion, namely that Arnold will end up in a "virtually identical" tax situation as what Cruz promised.

Is it really so hard to say, "Okay, true, the two men are very different on their STATED tax policies, but I have every reason to believe that Arnold will break his promise and end up where Cruz promised to go." I understand your views. You're trying to say that their "positions on issues" -- which I must take to mean, as stated in the campaign -- can be conflated with their anticipated-to-be-different course once in office.

This is my last post on the subject. If you want to argue for argument's sake, consider sending me a PM, as we are cluttering the thread.

I was sincere in thanking Spiff for his links. Those really opened my eyes about what the NFRA and CRA were about.

Actually, I'm a realist. Arnold won. He's better than Davis.

But he's still a liberal. That's reality.

There are good things to come from this. Davis is history. The national Dems took a hard shot to the chin. Some opportunities will arise in state government because more doors will be open to Republicans. The job of the Bush campaign is marginally easier next year. The job of the RATs is marginally harder.

But there is a downside as well. Prop 54, a commonsense postive move to reach toward our goal of a truly colorblind society, went down to defeat largely because of Schwarzenegger's opposition. Already, Riordon has opened his mouth about higher taxes. RINOs are salivating about nominating a pro-abort presidential ticket and changing the Reagan pro-life plank in the platform.

Winning a campaign is one thing. Governing is quite another. As I told someone here earlier, I wish nothing but the best for California. I hope your new Governor far exceeds all of my expectations and proves all of my fears utterly wrong. I will pray as often as I think of it that that will be the case.

Regards,
EV

>> What's really amusing about your post is that if Arnold does raise taxes, renege on the Driver License issue, etc. - you will be hard pressed to find anyone that will admit he that voted for him. Most will claim they voted for Tom <<

They won't get away with it this time like the idiot "freepers" who gloated about Bloomberg's "victory" for the GOP and now deny they ever supported the guy.

NYC falling back into a cesspool is directly at the feet of the Bloomberg idiots who claimed he was a "fiscally responciple buisnessman", just like gun confiscations and higher taxes in CA will be directly at the feet of the Schwarzekennedy groupies.

I have all their moronic worship of Arnold and all their "predictions" bookmarked for future refence. We'll just check back in '04 and '06 to see if Bush MAGICALLY wins the state thanks to Arnold, or if Arnold cuts taxes and "deports all the illegals" like his brainwashed supporters CLAIMED on their list of conservative "stances" for Arnie. The bottom line, of course, will be if Kalifornistan is any better 2 years from now than it will be under Davis. Unless Arnold grows a brain, there's about a 90% chance that Kalifornistan's problems will be blamed on liberal Arnold's "Republican" rule.

First they said "anyone" would be better than Davis and then they revised it to "you HAVE to vote for Arnold or Bustamente will win!!!"

Then they said that recall would work because voters would NOT replace Davis with someone who supports the SAME policies, and then revised it to "recall will be successful as long as an 'R' wins"

Now they are saying recall is a "victory" for conservatives because having a Republican governor MAGICALLY makes the state go to Bush in 2004 and "Brings the buisnesses" back. We'll be back to "remind" of them of their original statements when they change their story AGAIN in 2006 and claim "I only voted for Arnold cuz I wanted McClintock for the Senate" or something stupid like that.

RINOs keep winning elections and guy like Estrada get screwed because a huge 'wing' of the GOP won't even support our values. Yet the RATs ALWAYS vote in lockstep! It's time to draw the line! Four years ago, the Slickmeister got off scot free and freepers almost UNANIMOUSLY agreed that ANY Republican who supported Bubba during impeachment would NEVER get our vote again!! Now the Arlen Specters and Arnold Schwarzeneggers are not only endorsed but WORSHIPPED by some "freepers!!" We have control over every branch of government and we still pass NOTHING because they won't STOP supporting RINOs!!

I don't know anything about those organizations so cannot comment. If what you say is true or if they are racist - I wouldn't be interested.

Thanks. I meant every word.

I'm ready to celebrate. We Republicans have had three straight wins. The dems have pushed their sour little selves into a far left corner, positioning us for big gains in 2004.

Conservatives who fill every stereotype of the left's caricature of conservatives aren't helping us, and they certainly aren't helping themselves.

Yeah - I was most disappointed about Prop. 54 - it could have passed if Arnold had supported it. It was so close.

*L* Maybe. I hope that wasn't/isn't the case. As bruised feelings from the election heal in days to come, I also hope that, in your dealings in FR and out, you give some voice to your hopes -- for example, hopes that the new governor will pleasantly surprise you in various ways -- instead of so exclusively bemoaning your fears. That's the example that I believe Tom McClintock is seeking to set.

There you went and did it! You brought that glorious RINO idiot, beloved by Ahnold-type 'conservative' supporters here at FR, Bloomberg, into it! LOL
