1954 to 1994. They controlled the House continuously during this period, the Senate for all but 6 years, and at all times had a substantial majority of state elected officials around the country. They also held big edges in voter identification, and at times had veto proof majorities in one or both houses of congress. Yes, the Republicans held the White House for 26 of these years, but in truth this is about as close as you can get to political control over a long time. We should be so fortunate.

I see your point, but I was specifically thinking of both the Legislature and the White House combined.
And, I also think it is highly unlikely that they will be able to do it again! :)

Thank you. Too many Americans forget the strangle hold the Socialists had on the US. And lest some forget, their death grip is strong enough that it is dragging Republicans to the left instead of conservatives dragging the middle to the right.
