Calling Singer a bioethicist is quite the contradiction.
Another way of saying "Your arguments, which annihilate my infantile suppositions, will be ignored because they make my head hurt and refute my inane rantings."
Nice try, Singer, but not everyone is as stupid, nor are you as smart, as you suppose.
The demented rantings and spewings of Peter Singer impact negatively on the quality of life and cause intense suffering to those who may listen to or read them.
When my youngest daughter was in high school, she joined a student activity club which, among other things, provided babysitting service for parents of "special needs" children. She worked for many families who had children with Down Syndrome and other disabilities.
From her experience, Down Syndrome children are gifted with a special capacity for love.
She has decided to choose a career in occupational therapy that will allow her to work with Down Syndrome families.
Down's children are known for their capacity for love and desire to please, they are somewhat prone to emotional "outbursts" but so are a lot of other kids. I believe with every fiber of my being that if a child is born, it is because G-d ordained it as such; otherwise, the child would have died in the womb. The secularists want to superimpose their judgement for the Almighty's, it is not only sinful, it is inhumane.
Not to mention a lot of adults.
Not to mention a lot of adults.
Hey, don't talk about me like that!
