Many of you people are missing the point. The problem is on the front end, not the back end. The problem is that not enough people believe like you and me. Especially in California. Whining about principles and RINOS at election time is a waste of time and energy. Many of you look childish and ridiculous. Well, the argument that voting for Arnold is unprincipled for a conservative is hollow IMHO. This is a war with many fronts. Taking out Saddam was just a small part of the WOT, and taking out Davis is just a small part of the War for the Republic. This recall battle is a MUST WIN. It's about getting rid of a chunk of the Rat machine, it's about demoralizing them, it's about getting them to waste resources. We all have our bit to contribute. What I will say about McClintock, is he does show himself as a faithful conservative. That's fine and dandy, BUT, doing that at Arnold's expense and the potential cost of the recall is NOT smart.

Tom is a good man and a good public servant.
You who mock him here do him an injustice.
If he had not been in the debate, our side would not have been heard at all. He was the only one who mentioned illegal immigration, gun rights, and other issues dear to the hearts of (many if not most) Freepers.
I talked to many Democrats who were impressed with how much sense he made.
If Arnold has any decency, he will offer him a job in his administration to, as the author of this thread states, 'bury the hatchet' between the moderate and right wings of the Party.

No, I don't think (R)nold will be changing his party affiliation anytime soon.

I think you about summed it up. "This guy is a true liberal Republican."

Right now, enthusiasm is high for (R)nold because the GOP is hopeful about what he can do for California's economy.

We'd need to wait a year or so to see if he really lives up to his "fiscal conservatism".

Tom is a career politician, maybe he should get out in the real world and contribute. He showed incredibly bad judgement, he could have given CA governor Cruz. He may have done good in the past, but he screwed the pooch on this campaign, and I don't someone without the common sense to figure that out as a Governor.
