Bruce said a bullet fragment removed from Mrs. Danielak's brain appeared to be lead, indicating it came from a pistol, not a rifle. He said the normal range of a handgun is "60-70 yards, less than 100 for sure." He said it was possible the bullet was fired from an access road that parallels the interstate, but nobody reported seeing a car on that road. Next to the access road is an open field. Not in J-school, though I am seriously considering changing career paths from teaching to journalism, especially after I wrote Rita Cosby to get her thoughts on the profession and she told me to call her because my e-mail was the most well-written one she had seen in a long time. So, I did....and she told me to definitely apply for a FNC internship and to let her know when I intend to do so. I go to Sterling College in central KS (www.sterling.edu). I have heard some bad things about how the J-school in KU is heading, so I wouldn't go there anyway.

I am editor of the paper this year and love it, though I have a paltry staff so I basically AM the paper.
