As to why, well, he can't touch the money till after Terri has died.

Is it known how much money in left in Terri's "rehabilitation fund"? At one point, didn't George J. Felos say that the account was "nearly" empty? How does Schiavo afford an $80,000 Mercedes while his "loving" wife is on Medicaid? Isn't this Medicaid fraud?

I'm not sure how much is left, I've heard that there may $200,000-250,000 from different places, though I'm not sure if that's just speculation or not. Judge Greer allowed Michael to use the rehabilitation trust fund money for his legal expenses, as well as paying for several body guards (one for himself, and one to guard Terri's room).

Michael received $350,000 from the malpractice suit, so I'm sure he had himself a good time buying stuff. He also has a pretty nice house in a nice neighborhood too.

And it sure would seem that this is medicaid fraud, though I'll bet he has the house and car under his live-ins name. That way he could 'legally' show that he has very little income.

Terri's ordeal just sickens me. How any man could do this to his wife is beyond me.
