The world is no closer to world government than it has ever been. This is the same ultra-right-wing clap trap,I have been hearing for more than a decade. This kind of talk is the orgin of the epithet "Right-wing crazies." Conservatives thrive on shadowy plots and conspiracies. I have yet to witness a Republican adminstration that hasn't engage, at least in a limited sense, in military adventures.
With the end of the Soviet Union and rise of capitalism in the PRC, we have seen the end of communism as a global ideology. So, get real and stop being nastalgic for the cold war, it will never come back. America is king now. Long live the king.

Hate to disagree but there are numerous warning signs that need to be considered. We're either unwilling or unable to control our borders and in any event our fedgov seeks to take our hard-earned tax $ and bestow numerous welfare style benefits to law breakers. Anyone with a lick of sense can see that current treatment of illegals amounts to corporate welfare in it's purest sense.....imagine owning a company where you can pay minimal wages, knowing full well the suckers.....oops taxpayers will subsidize their living expenses. Unchecked immigration will lead us into a very polarized society and all the social problems that come with that condition.....in effect we're in the process of committing national suicide.

Add to that our disastrous free trade policies which have resulted in massive trade deficits and millions of jobs lost, huge budget deficits that have created a federal debt
that by some estimates now total over 40 TRILLION and is virtually unpayable, a legal system that is getting more out of control as time goes on....witness the ridiculous lawsuits being filed across the country by shyster laywers, etc. yet many folks in this country skip along like they don't have a care in the world. All I can say is that we will all pay a huge price for the collective arrogance and ignorance of our current society.
