Like I always tell my dog and cat obsessed friends, if your pet was bigger than you, he would eat you. With cats, you are ABSOLUTELY correct (hate cats myself). Dogs are different. They actually do have a pack mentality, if you raise them with you and they were to get bigger, thye might just try and take your food.
Otherwise why do rottweiller owners not get eaten ?

My 128 lb pup has never ever threatened the 5lb Bichon my lady friend has. when this dog was jumped on by children he had never seen before he just kissed them,

Just FYI, a dog named Bear, living in "A city in Northeast Oklahoma", just stole my leftover chicken parmesan while I had my back turned. He's not very contrite about it, either.
