A Muslim businessman was jailed for life for murdering his daughter's Christian boyfriend to stop them marrying.
The killing was the latest in a series of so-called "honour killings".
Mustaq Ahmed, 40, killed Albanian Rexhap Hasani, 22, after realising he would not be able to break up his relationship with his 16-year-old daughter Sadhia.
Mr Hasani was lured to Mr Ahmed's dress factory in Seven Kings, east London, where he died from asphyxia after being tied, gagged and beaten up, the Old Bailey heard.
Ahmed, of Hulse Avenue, Barking, east London, was found guilty of murdering Mr Hasani in October, last year.
After the case, Detective Inspector John Macdonald said: "Rexhap was clearly murdered because his girlfriend's father disapproved of their relationship.
"They wanted to marry and Ahmed couldn't face the thought of his daughter being with an Albanian asylum seeker, who in his eyes was not suitable.
"This result will again demonstrate that `honour' type killings will not be tolerated and will be investigated as thoroughly as any other murder."
Mr Macdonald said he had met Mr Hasani's family who were grieving for the loss of their eldest son.
After the verdict, Richard Fisher, defending, said: "Not withstanding his punishment, Mr Ahmed carries the pain of the severe distress that has been caused to his daughter. They are reconciled to the extent that they can be."
The case follows the jailing for life last week of Kurdish Muslim Abdalla Yones for the honour killing of his 16-year-old daughter after she fell in love with someone of whom he did not approve.
