Isn't that Wachovia more like in Vienna? I was thinking there was a Wachovia in downtown McLean around the Total Beverage area.

They've actually built a hotel (I think it's a Courtyard, but I'm not sure) right beside the Holiday Inn. I would imagine the Holiday Inn managers aren't too pleased about it. The Courtyard faces the main road and pretty much blocks the view of the Holiday Inn, lol. Anyways, that might be where the 7-11 was before. Either that, or I'm not paying enough attention and managed to miss it :). Sounds about right- I recall the gas station side faced the street and the convenience store section was in the rear, but connected.
I was a mailman of sorts and used to drop off documents packs and light packages out that way off Route 123 at times. I probably wouldn't even recognize the area now, but I probably ate at every restaurant around the mall at one time or another and recall some interesting conversations in the Holiday Inn downstairs bar. Not all of which were in English.

The particular Wachovia that I'm thinking of is in Tysons not Vienna (it's somewhere between Olive Garden and Tiffany's). Although, there is a small branch of Wachovia somewhere along Maple Ave in Vienna.
And I wouldn't be surprised if there's another one in downtown Mclean near the Total Beverage you're talking about. I usually only use the Tysons one, so I don't keep track.

Oh that's Rte. 7 East. This Wachovia/McDonald's is on Rte 123 right before the Welcome to Vienna, be sure to drive slower than dirt sign.

Lol, that doesn't surprise me in the least. There's an inordinate number of diplomat types living in that area, inc. in the Rotunda place behind International Drive. You always see tons of cars going around with diplomatic plates. They're usually the ones that completely disregard traffic laws :)...
Quite a few Indian and Korean immigrants too.

Ooohhh, that McDonald's. This is the McDonald's across from the huge toilet bowl building that used to belong to Siemen, right? Didn't know there was another Wachovia next to it.
You're not kidding about the "drive slower than dirt" sign. There's always a cop lurking around there trying to catch people speeding down the hill.

Yeah, I did hear about that Wachovia and First Union merger/partnership/whatever they're calling it. I don't recall the First Union sign being taken down and changed though. Will pay more attention next time I go into Vienna!
We're getting pretty off topic now, lol. Time to remove the tin foil hats.
So, this kidnapping was around 9-10 am and Mrs. Gregg was forced to withdraw money from one of the Wachovias around Tyson/McLean/Vienna. I would think then, that they have a pretty good idea of what the perps and the getaway car look like. I hope they find them fast, if only for Mrs. Gregg's peace of mind.

Don't know this this would qualify as a bank robbery. It would be an armed robbery of a person, which happened at an ATM. Details to follow.
