They`ll count the absentee ballots just as soon as they arrive from Mexico.

Officials there predicted that they would have to count up to 100,000 ballots after the electionI thought all ballots were counted after the election. Why would they count any ballots before the election?

Officials Warn of Absentee Vote Factor in Recall Election The NYT needs some better writers. It would be reasonable if officials warned of vote fraud or of some potential for voter error on Dade County butterfly ballots. The title sounds really stupid, as if absentee votes are sinister or something, while the article only says that these ballots take more time to verify and count.

"The next day we're dead, and people want to know what's left to be counted, and the bottom line is we're talking about 1.2 million votes that are not counted election night." Couple this with Orange County deciding to forego the electronic scanners and use the older method of voting, and promising the final numbers won't be known until sometime tomorrow. Me thinks we may have to wait a week before the outcome is known, which will throw a kink in the dems plan to bring it to court should it not go their way.
