Ive been disenfranchised by the bureaucrats in Contra Costa. About three weeks ago , I sent in an absentee ballot request to the election office in Contra Costa, CA which for the east coasters, is a suburb bedroom community east of San Francisco.
I didnt get my absentee ballot. Ive been disenfranchised by a bureaucrat. I called em today and they suggested I go to the polls. Im in Seattle I told em. Oh said the clerk. Well we sent one to your home address in California, on Sept 19th he said. (They didnt, and its NOT the address I put on the request.)
How do I file a complaint or a disputed ballot I nicely queried. Dont know said the clerk.
The ACLU wont care cause Im a white male, but Arnold is getting one less vote due to some union clerk.

Write to the secretary of state. Do it on paper, and specify that you are filing a formal complaint.

They sent it to someones home. Was it a typo, or the address of the Davis campaign HQ?

File suit. Everyone else will.

Every time I've requested an absentee ballot, it is sent to the mailing address I specified when I registered -- even if I specifically ask that the ballot be sent to the address that I registered as my home/residence.

I've also not received my absentee ballot in the past. I had to ask again, long enough before the election for them to send another one.
The last day to request an absentee ballot was Sept 30th, so today is too late.

I suggest you get an attorney and call a press conference!
Isn't that the way it's "done?"

Drango, it looks like the recall will pass and Schwarzenegger will win.
If you're really worried, find someone who wasn't planning to vote, and convince him to agree with your choices and to go cast his ballot.

The lesson to take from this is, don't leave the region (in future election seasons) until you're you've gotten your absentee ballot in your hot little hand, or you've gone into an "early vote" location and voted there, etc. :/
Here is hoping that the election ends up NOT being that close. Imagine how you'd feel if it WERE close, egad!

One of the things I've noticed here in SF Bay Area Commieland is that if you're a Repub the Department of Elections will find a way to disenfranchise your vote.
You should have had it before you left. Do not trust them one iota.
Lesson (painful) learned.

Maybe you should form a thread here and see if other Conservatives have had problems recieving absentee ballots. I would not put this beyond the DNC. Also call some radio talk shows and generate a buzz.

They sent it to someones home.
Right on, B-52. That ballot will be cast for Bustamante. In fact, I'd be happy if it's just cast one time. I hope your man Muscles has a plan to fight vote fraud up that bulging sleeve.
I understand Ahnolt will do OK amongst live, legally registered Americans of Mexican ancestry. Bustamante's plan is to kick his sitzenplatz among dead, illegal alien, and entirely fictitious repeat Mexican voters, though.
Worked great for Gore.
