Have any of the people who think that it's not biological in many, if not most, cases ever stopped to ask why a man would prefer a man instead of a woman? I'm attracted to women and when I look at another man I feel nothing along the lines of what a heterosexual man feels when looking at an attractive woman. The only nature versus nurture here is involved in those too indoctrinated to see the simple, rational explanation for most cases of homosexuality.

Yes, I have stopped to ask. I pursued the answers, and I've found them.

My prior post explains, in an over-simplified manner how it works.

A mentor is not always required, however, without a mentor, the sufferer of this neurosis or congenital disease will usually pursue other forms of sexual abuse and substance addiction.

And how, pray tell, are the homosexual genes propagated?

While there may be a genetic 'tendency' to be a homo, as there is for an alcoholic to be an alcoholic, the nuturing received from parents and the choices that individual makes in life determine whether they become an alcoholic (or a homo) or not.

The vast majority of gays have either been molested or had poor family relationships (either of which is coupled with their own poor coping skills).

The idea of homosexuality being purely biological is simply hooey. If it were purely biological, then in all cases, identical twins would either be both hetero or both homo. That's not the case.

Love and sex...are pretty powerful emotions and feelings. And yes...one can become, like the heroin addict is addicted to heroin, addicted to same gender love and sex.

Fwiw-

Okay let's put some puzzle pieces together. Well first of all evolution has nothing to do with Biological functions rooting out "bad genes" or "useless genes." (although the theory has no way of ever being proven, evolution is the most widely accepted theory of how different animals come about and change.) It is commonly accepted among scientists that evolution could be random in a controlled state. In a natural state however, certain genes such as large feet to escape from predators, come about because the one's with the smaller feet get eaten before they can reproduce, and therefore longer feet genes stay and get passed on. It is not a "morphing" phenomena where the body is conscious of it's flaws.
Now if this is true, then homosexuals, who don't have sex with members of the opposite sex, would have been rooted out a long time ago because they failed to keep themselves alive. But as we all know and agree homosexuality still exists, and therefore if homosexuality is applied to genetics and the theory of evolution, it ceases to make sense that being gay is genetic. Plus, back before modern industrialization there was no such thing as artificial pregnancy or sperm injected by a doctor into a woman's body. That would indicate less methods of gays passing on their heritage.
This is called dialectics and is the preferred way to spell out a philosophical or political theory.
