"Incrementalism" is the same "dogma" advocated by Ronald Reagan.

You know, the guy who said he could vote for somebody who agreed with him 80% of the time?

Perhaps that is why all those liberals voted for him. Grab an increment when you can.

The result was in many estimates much more than a modicum of capitulation as that administration advocated both the largest budget deficit ($150 billion in '84 and '85) and the largest tax increase ($227 billion over 5 years in '82) in our country's history to date.

Such a political dogma seems to be detrimental to America even given the good intentions of some.
