sheesh.

That's your dismissive response to an article that says character counts? "Character counts" was once the motto of conservatives -- when we were decrying the lack of character exhibited by Bill Clinton. Was that just a phoney political ploy on our part? Not for me.

Why do you think Arnold has a bad character? Is that based on allegations, most of which he said was untrue?

I'm not saying that character does not count....but, I am saying that you have to get someone WITH character elected....and sorry, perfection doesn't always get elected....deal with it.

And not for me. But judging by the number of FReepers who are now willing, no make that eager, to overlook or excuse the missing character and liberal-Democratic agenda of a big time Hollywood celebrity who can WIN, the answer to your question is a resounding yes. The hypocricy that has been on display on FR for the last week or so reeks to high heaven. But I guess the stench is tolerable if your only goal is to WIN. It must be an ego thing. You know, your team has to win or it somehow reflects badly on your masculinty. There's no other explanation I can think of.

Next, maybe the GOP can make a clean sweep in CA if it can persuade or bribe Babs Streisand and Martin Sheen to run for the Senate on the GOP ticket. And why not? Those two worthies have about the same political philosophy as the leading "Republican" gubernatorial candidate and I'm sure they would get the same enthusiastic support on this "conservative" forum. But most importantly they would have a big R after their names, and they could WIN. Yeaaah! Let's hear it for the home team.
