Yawn.

From lucianne.com this morning:

"They Are Never Going to Get It: Feminist, leftists, so-called 'progressives' and Bush Baiters (and now Cbuff) are simply never going to understand that when Arnold was running around being a pig with women he owed us nothing." (my bold)

Bingo. Starting Tuesday, he owes us something. It's a calculated risk.

As dfu said (paraphrasing): "Bookmark it. If he does this while in office, I'll be first in line calling for his resignation."

There are actually a good number of facts and data behind this.

The big gorilla undeniable fact is that Demonrats are in a strong majority in CA. Therefore the only way to win is to win over a good percent of Demonrats. A strongly held Conservative position does not work with these Demonrats. (I wish it would, but it doesn't.)

Obviously the polls show that McC never got more than about 18%. That won't do it.

The only area where I'll quibble a bit with Keyes is on the womanizing issue. Arnold was doing this as a young actor in the Hollywood scene, whereas Clinton was doing that stuff to subordinates as governor of Arkansas and as President of the United States. Moreover, Clinton had a credible charge of rape against him. But overall, Keyes makes excellent points.

But being a conservative and being a Republican can be two different things. A distinction that you will not make and belittle those who can make it.

Lame. The distinction is obvious to everybody, and is what this battle is about.

Well, I admire Dr. Keyes and will continue to do so.

The issue is the corruption of the Republican Party.

Here, I will disagree with Dr. Keyes. The Republican party is not just conservative. It is broader than that and needs to be to win elections.

He gets a majority without Arnold in the race. That will do it.

Keyes did, indeed, call Bush "evil."

I'll believe it when I see the quote.

Keyes never called Bush evil.

Thanks for the clarification.

"Republicans" like Schwarzenegger enjoying power and prestige are a worse evil than the Democrats. Because they wear the Republican label, they defuse the opposition that would otherwise be roused against the positions they take. They operate in politics as the AIDS virus operates in the body – it fools the cell into thinking it is a defender against infection, all the while silently reprogramming that same cell to work for the death of the man.

WHOOOO-HOOOOO!!! Tell it, Doctor. Tell it!

And that brings us back to my original point - change the platform. It's the only honest thing to do.

You know what?? No one has proven that Arnold did what he is being accused of. It most probably has some truth to it, but I'm quite sure the allegations have more than their fair share of liberal media spin, and moronic women who want to keep Doofus in office no matter what.

This is the first I've heard that. EVERYBODY ELSE who commented on the speech, THE VERY NEXT DAY, said Keyes did, in fact, call Bush evil.

Then you need to find another party...

I'm certainly considering it. Of course the RINOs know that there will be no Republican Party if the pro-life plank is removed, so the plank will remain in the platform indefinitely. Unfortunately, they are unwilling to risk any political capital in doing the right thing and aborting the pro-death RINOs.

..because not all Republicans who run for office will be a pro-life candidate.

Not only will I refuse to help them, I'll work against them. I even work for pro-life Democrats when they're up against pro-death Republicans. That's why I support individual candidates.

...And being pro-life is not a litmus test for being Republican.

See above.

Of course, if the party platform is changed--turn out the lights, the Party's over.

Bad thing for America, but that is the reality.
