Davis Calls for Arnold Grope Probe, Mum on Clinton

Gov. Gray Davis said on Saturday that state law enforcement authorities should investigate a series of old groping allegations against Arnold Schwarzenegger, which would require investigators to waive California's statute of limitations on sexual battery.

At the same time Gov. Davis has declined to respond to questions about whether his most prominent supporter, ex-President Bill Clinton, should face the same kind of legal scrutiny over far more serious charges of sexual misconduct.

Speaking about Schwarzenegger, Davis told a rally in Oakland on Saturday, "Some of these instances, if they are true, constitute a crime . . . I believe authorities should do their job. They should review all the facts. On the completion of that review, if they think a crime was committed, they should follow their own laws."

Though Davis aides later insisted that he was not calling for his opponent's prosecution, the governor himself continued to insist as late as Sunday night that law enforcement needed to address the situation.

"Fifteen women coming forward and saying that one human being treated them badly and against their will is not a trifling matter, and ought to be looked at, reviewed, and some determination made," he told CNN's "Larry King Live."

The most recent allegation of inappropriate touching by Schwarzenegger dates back to 2000, two years beyond California's statute of limitations for prosecuting sexual battery. Many of the other accusations go back to the 1970s and 80s.

Despite the brouhaha, two of Davis' most prominent supporters have yet to weigh in on his call for the statute of limitations to be waived in the Schwarzenegger case.

NewsMax.com's calls to the offices of New York Sen. Hillary Clinton and ex-President Bill Clinton, asking if they agreed with Davis that Schwarzenegger should be prosecuted, were not returned by presstime.

An inquiry sent to Gov. Davis' press office asking if he favors waiving the statute of limitations in the case of an Arkansas businesswoman who alleges that Mr. Clinton brutally raped her 1978 has also not been answered.

Arkansas' statute of limitations on rape is seven years.

Can they do this, if no charges are filed? Have any of these women FILED charges?

Accusations in the court of "public opinion" is not really binding, is it?

I thought they may try this. Don't be surprised if you see charges being brought against Arnold today. The dems motto is the "ends justify the means".

Don't you mean Arnold would like an investigation of Davis for throwing objects at his (Davis) staff?

On local S.F. station, KSFO, Melanie Morgan was speaking about reports of assaults by Gov. Davis on females in his office who are deathly afraid of him. No media coverage on this though...

Do you honestly think this ends on Tuesday Dave???

Besides, you can pull the lever, but you are going to have a tough time getting Davis' policies to flush. I think some moron actually tried to flush a bottle...

it really burns me how easily the dems promote groping in their media but bill clinton got a free ride on his serial rapes.

the only solution i can think of is for people when in public to mention this at the supermarket checkstand, mention it to friends, etc.

if everyone did this, our influence would be felt.

Give me a Break!
These women are such a sorry bunch of jerks! As a woman if I was so appalled by a man who groped me, I would of handled it right when it happened, not when it suited me when I thought I could use it as ammunition.

Did Davis lead such a stellar life? Frankly unless Arnold was a known Drug Dealer, Child Molestor, Murderer, Rapist,
Racist or Thief, I could care less about a bunch of stupid women that stuck out there boobs or rears and were groped.

Nice rant, what does that have to do with your leader raising my taxes, which is what the bottle refers to?

That much is patently obvious, and hypocritical of you Hype(R)partisan women for (R)nold. You have no shame, no dignity.

See the problem here is that it gets to be a nice R vs D arguement for you small minded types, I don't care THAT much about this, my mind was already made up long before this about this impending disaster for my state's economy, but you think you can blast Davis about doing similar character problems and I'm supposed to care. You Groupies whole arguement FOR (R)nold was that he had the "leadership" and the "character" to clean up Sacramento, never mind that man behind the curtain...I POSTED THE FIRST THREAD ON FR ABOUT RECALLING DAVIS IN FEBUARY for crying out loud. Get out my face with Davis' problems. That's not the point. You aren't debating some nonRepublican here on the street about (R)nold's disastrous Governorship...

But you will.

Well glad to see you want Davis out too!

His lame excuses about the budget and the car tax and the money he spent is old and boring, so it's time after fair warning "YOUR FIRED" why should he be any different from any other working American that is fired for not doing there job? I am sure the DMV would offer him a job.
